So I'm thinking about shoving a copoun on for Italy to win 3-1. I do feel England have a strong squad and a goal in them but Italy have been more or less flying through the tournament and undefeated in 30+ games. I'm sensing they will slowly drain the game with a strong counter attack tonight.
Any fellow gamblers got any other predictions?  |

Aye quite possibly, both teams might end up playing very cautiously since it's the final, extra time then penalties would be madness haha. Will check the odds on that. |

Definitely not writing England off. It's a cup final anything can happen but in my opinion Pickford is your weak link. He'll certainly need to be on his toes tonight to keep Italy out but again just my opinion. |

As far as I can see any comments here have been to do with the form of both teams and nothing to do with independence (as it should be). May the best team on the night win and thanks for visiting the Scottish forum, have a lovely Sunday  |

Hopefully england win it. Always support the home nations of scotland wales england and NI. Have no idea why one would not. Itqly are in good form but so are england. They were unlucky not to make the world cup finals after losing out in the semi's. |

Italy are over 2/1 with most bookies just to win the game so I'd say that's a better punt than trying to predict a score.
Right enough, if its just a small bet to keep it interesting, there's no harm. |

If Italy do what they do (and they do it effectively), then I can see them getting an early goal or two and killing the game off very early.
People think the Italians will slow it down, I think the opposite (until they get the lead).
Italy to score very early, and possibly win match by either 3-0 or maybe even 4-0. (All about the early goal or goals.) |

Scotland actually invented football not England. The first goal kick was done using a roman centurions head across the half way line that would later become Hadrians wall.

I'm not supporting England because my home nations are Scotland and Italy, not because I'm bitter. If it wasnt Italy in the final then I would probably support England

Italy looks to me the better team, so my money would be on them. Depends on form of the day and a bit of luck as well, so it really could go either way.

The lyrics were written for the euro 96 tourmament and was ment to signify the tournament itself coming to england..but like everything has grown arms and legs into something totally different.

Here's something I read on another forum, which I thought was brilliantly put (I'm not anti England squad btw, if they do win, good on them and I'll be happy for my English friends):
"Imagine you're Dutch, you love your football, you love to see the Netherlands do well.
You turn on the TV or radio, your media constantly talks about the German team, they're going around asking Dutch people if they'd be supporting the Germans. Telling you how amazing the German team is.
You watch a game not involving Germany. Half time in the studio they're showing you interviews with German players and discussing how Germany will perform at the tournament and even the pundits are making cheap digs towards the Dutch team. You're told, the Germans deserve this! They deserve to reach the final after the horrible year they've had (yeah, Germany and the rest of the world....)
