I think I am really naive when it comes to this because I don't really notice.
I see people who are clearly friends who have in jokes and are drawn to each other when commenting but surely that's natural when people are familiar to each other?
I've read about people being "ganged up" on but I guess it might be one of those things you don't see unless it happens to you. |

I've said this so many times... Cliques are a matter of perception OP. Do you really expect people who have met countless times, know each other well and enjoy each others' banter to refrain from interacting? If you met your friends in a social setting where there were 100s of other people present would you not gravitate towards them and be happy to see and acknowledge them?
We're a social species on a social medium. Be nice and people will gravitate towards you too.
I'm an interloper here... yet I've made friends. Not with everyone (I wouldn't expect to), but enough to keep me here.
Comment on threads that interest you. If there are none, start one. If people share your interest they'll comment... If not they won't. Simples
Oh... And it kinda helps if you respond to and interact with people who comment on threads you start... Otherwise folks might somehow think you'd posted purely as a 'look at me' exercise |

There has always been cliques on here there was 2,5,7 years ago they just referred to themselves as regulars. Saying that they had friendly elements and bitters the same as casual users. Things never change on here. |

Hey op I was just wondering if click was genuinely a typo or the American spelling of clique? There might be a few red faces here if so.
I lived in the US for a few years and loved it. But there are many curious differences are there not. When it comes to spelling I'm afraid I'm with the Americans on most things. Color definitely makes more sense than colour. And center is clearly the correct way of spelling centre
Perhaps pm me if you don't want to post your reply here. Americans are always welcome in my book

There are groups its pretty obvious you only have to look at the regular specific threads that are put up that are introverted but they are easy enough to ignore and there are plenty of other people posting that are more open and less closed group orientated so why worry. |

There are various groups of friends on here, some who have known each other for years so it's only natural there will be some in jokes and certain references that those outside of those groups won't understand.
As long as the more established people are generally welcoming and considerate of new posters that's all that can be expected. In return the new posters have to accept they won't always feel included in everything and do need to make an effort. Imo. |

Cliques (noun) a small close knit group of people who do not readily allow others to join in.
We can all join and comment so no real ‘clique’ on Fab.
Maybe clique is not the right word,but those small close knit group of people can at times make newbies feel uncomfortable to post."

I am not here to wet nurse noobs who are scared to type a message.
I mainly post banal comments to annoy, amuse, or be ignored by a bunch of strangers. Sometimes I accidently get a bit helpful, for those posts I apologise! Sometimes a bit thoughtful... sorry about those too...
I, as I suspect many others follow a thread I have posted on to see if anyone reacts to my words, sometimes they do often they don't, dont care a jot either way really. It's hardly Shakespear quality I post.
So OP and any other noobs nervous of the forum, just jump in, time it right and you will get a reaction, but expect most to drift away like sticks under a bridge. |

there's just a random and continually changing selection of people who chat, meet, shag, fall out, and become overly dependant on forum posting for their self-worth!

The way to tell the cliques is to go into threads they start and you will notice they rarely quote the new people, just have fun yourself and as soon as it stops being fun go, I mean a guy this morning was saying he hadn't had a meet since joining which was over a year ago, why stay surely meeting is the point imo |
