What screams pretending to be rich
Jump to: Newest in thread
Bottomless brunch, rental sports cars, posing for photos at department stores, leaving your tag on your clothing, drinking Au vodka, wearing clothes with big logos, following hyped fashion brands instead of your own style (and usually faking it), family holiday to Dubai… I could go on |

Standing in front of someone elses sports car you've seen in a carpark, taking pictures, while wearing fake gold and making guns with your fingers- so you can play bad boy gangster on your socials...then going home to see whats for tea as you still live your mom |

"Drinking lambrini out of a champagne glass lol
Lol 🤣 I love it and out of a Gin glass even better dash of squash in it too
What's the difference between squash and cordial. "
Rich or poor..
Squash is generally watery sugar cheaper
Cordial is usually thicker higher fruit content less water more like a syrup |

Shades from the petrol station, on top your head.
Two flakes in a 99 cone.
Umbrella in your cocktail.
Pineapple on your pizza order.
20 cans of baked beans in your shopping trolley instead of 4.
Anything expensive that's been reduced in the supermarket, like whole lobster.
Wearing shorts to go shopping on a winters day, says your so warm at home you don't need to cover up, and the Bentley will get me home in a flash.

The trend off this feed is that Range Rovers are seriously chav and I kinda agree. It’s so sad watching everyone drive around in them like they own the world when they are just paying the monthly instalments to hand it back in 3 years time!! |

I don’t have any examples on top of what’s already been said but will never understand the whole pretending to be rich ring, even on the off chance it does fool a few others what’s the point as they themselves know the truth? |

How do you determine if the people you claim to be pretending are not in fact rich.
So a bloke in a Range Rover wearing an England Rugby Union shirt with a Submariner on in his Gucci loafers is clearly pretending?? |

Fake clothes, expensive car DP's
I'm not skint and was a bit of a fashion snob in my younger days. I own Gucci's, Burberry, aquascutum, quite alot of Ralph Lauren, Barbour and Belstaff, I have always had a decent job and wearing decent gear gave me something to show.
I've sold quite a bit of my stone island etc on eBay in recent years as just collecting dust |

"Second hand Range Rovers
Hunter wellies"
I would say second hand Range Rover is _exactly_ what a rich person would buy. A rich person never borrows money to buy a car and they would never pay cash for an asset that would depreciate the second you drive it off the forecourt. They would wait for it to drop in price and then buy it.
If you see a brand new Range Rover (or any car) it is almost certainly paid for with borrowed money and the owner is not rich enough to buy it outright. |

No. I am saying they almost never finance things that will depreciate in value and that they can buy for cash. Rich people borrow money to put into assets that will go up in value. |

We've got a private plate. I had one before I sold my car.

Of course it’s a necessity I bought it to live in, it’s not a bar of gold or expensive painting
and if it proves an investment happy days when I down size and if it doesn’t I’ve still lived somewhere cheaper than renting so win win.
and at some point there won’t be any mortgage so even better
No issues with those who choose caravan life each to there own
I’m happy with my choice and hopefully they are.

And there it is the word choice.
You're judging people on their choices which has absolute zero to do with you
Unless it negatively impacts you in some way.

Not really you buy gold with cash as its your asset. And have the Range Rover on your company as you struggle to get the money out tax free.. NO |
