What’s your ideal first message
Jump to: Newest in thread
For us:
Hi , I am / we are.
Been around the LS for xy years.
I’m / we’re into this kind of stuff.
I am going to the same club as you on whatever date and would love to have a drink.
Attached face pics and full body (clothed)
That would pique our interest |

"I genuinely don’t think there’s any such thing.
So many people seek so many different things in a first received message, that a person will never find a one size fits all approach. "
Great!
You don’t have an ideal first message that if landed in your inbox would make you go, Yep, that’s got me interested

No.
I’ve had my interest piqued from a simple hello. And I’ve been bored to tears by an essay full of waffle. |

For me it would be something that showed a genuine intent to meet. Too much preamble can be boring and a “how r u?” tells me nothing (other than you didn’t pay attention in English classes at school) |

I don't have an ideal first message. I don't think there is such as a thing for me.
The introductory messages that I receive tend to offer a wide gamut of uniqueness, individuality and interest that simply cannot be boilerplated. |

Someone who has read my profile and matches what I seek to start with rather than the "I know I'm not what you're looking for but" I tend to get.
Someone who can message and sound like a sane human being rather than someone who is expecting me to fall onto their dick because "they are what I am looking for" after all.

Something like this might get my attention:
"Hello. I saw you at {club} on Saturday, but didn't get a chance to talk. I've sent a Friend invitation, hoping that you'll recognise my face. Please call me on {number} so that we can arrange something. I'm single and live on my own, so you can call at any time." |

They'd express their REAL intentions and address what it is they are after and why they sent a message. It would be respectful just as I'd hope they'd be when it is real and non virtual. I love confidence and character. |

A nice, friendly, opening message along the lines of
"Hi, we're X and Y, we've seen your profile and like the look of you guys! We're into A B C. Based in D.If you like the look of us would love to chat some more, see where it leads?"
Being grammatically correct is always a bonus, hate text speak or "hey wot u up 2" type messages. |

would you walk up to a stranger and tell them your life story, tell them what your sexual preferences are, which pub you go to and what you had for tea, thought not.
I normally start with a simple hello and act accordingly on the nature
of their response. I don't feel the need to control another human at the initial contact stage or ever would unless required. |

"I would need to know they have read my bio, feel like they know me a little and really want some quality time with me to get to know me better. So something like "Hey Foxy, gimme some of your BBC""
How about ITV or Channel 4 or Sky? |
