So now it's fecking hot and many are sleeping naked with the windows open, are you waking up to irritating, itchy bug bites in the morning?
Woke up today with half a dozen on my ankles and one right on my kneecap. 😭😭😭
I WANT TO SCRATCH THEM SO MUCH!!
But I won't. I'll just break out the anti bite pen when I get home later.
Do your local bugs find you a tasty snack or are they all seemingly avoiding you? |

My top half, including my face is a magnet for biting insects.
I'm a scratcher/picker too, which leaves me with scars.
Some itch a bit then dry up, but some hang around for ages.
The minute I turn my bedroom light off I hear them buzzing around my face.

Use a fan by the side of your bed that's directed onto you.
They can't land to bite you because of the airflow majority of the time.
I only usually get bitten abroad |

I may nip to IKEA and get some net curtains.
The joy of having a four poster means I can fence myself in. 😂😂
And some citronella candles too.
And a flamethrower.
Do IKEA sell flamethrowers? 🤔🤔 |

I didn't used to be bothered by bites, but this year the mosquitos have been mean and I have a massive red lump on the back of my leg at present. Not as itchy as yesterday thank goodness. I just use antihistamines. The kids are trained to kill mosquitos on sight. |

They all bite me, not Mr KC. However, employing a small USB fan overnight seems to be disturbing their flight plans and I've been largely spared. I got bitten several times on my bad leg, which I can't really feel, whilst sat watching Olympics the other night though. No fan |

Gardening in a shady spot yesterday received three bites on my left buttock, (wearing shorts), and two on the back of my legs, and one on my neck. Dont usually get bitten so much or so badly. All of them have left large swollen bumps, and incredibly itchy. Bastards! |

I have found two things help especially when on holiday.
Eating garlic seems to keep the bugs away and was advised when in Rhodes to drink Ouzo (or Pernod) and yep that seemed to work too.
A good insect repellent also works but you have to apply regularly. |

However the horseflies at the moment can absolutely get fucked."
Horseflies are the spawn of Satan. 👹👹 |

My personal ‘best’ (worst!) instance of insect bites in one session was some years ago whilst out walking my pooch on a damp yet very humid September day.
I got bitten forty(!!!) - yes, you read it correctly, FORTY times!
I actually counted the buggers.
I can honestly attest that I have never itched so much in my entire life ☹️☹️☹️ |

Mosquitos are out in force - I have a biggish pond which is a haven for them of course …
Lemon juice as a last resort helps but lavender oil is an excellent choice and tea tree as
An antiseptic
If your out, out - and get bitten or are naked in the woods …. Do not forget the leaves of rib wort they have excellent antihistamines properties
The fly swat is on hand!!
Good fun but you can look stupid in fencing pose
Bitten behind the knee - bloody infuriating
At least the sun is out whoooooo

Eat garlic and the Mosquitos tend to stay away but you need to eat it regularly, not lots just regularly.
Marmite seems to help as well, a little on toast in the morning for breakfast works as well.
A greek friend also told me about drinking Ouzo to keep Mosquitos at bay and that seems to work as well.
All the above are probably link to the bodys pores and what they emit in minute amounts after eating the Garlic or Marmite and drinking Ouzo but they all seem to work for me.
Mosquitos don't like moving air so a small fan blowing over you will help keep them away and help keep you a bit coolerwhile in bed at night. |

"It doesn't smell nice (the bugs must agree!), but you need Jungle Formula. We used it on holiday and it worked. "
Nope. I used the tropical environment Jungle Formula in Mallorca and was bitten by tiger mosquitos! |

I always say I wont scratch it, just start lightly tickling over the itch, that slowly becomes a rub, that becomes a deep hard scratch bringing instant relief and then stinging when it is a scratch too far I thought taking B vitamins was meant to make you unpalatable, but google says yay, and nay, when I asked it the question. |

In the service we used to throw away the debt we were given and use Avon Skin So Soft.
Smells pleasant and leaves your skin.... so soft.
Does what it says on the tin and the added bonus of repelling most known flying, biting critters.
Tested in Belize by squaddies. |

Create a job. Employ someone to swat them as you sleep |

AMATEUR!
At the tail-end of the 90s, I went to Grenada in the Caribbean with my folks. By the 4th day, I had 120 bites just on my legs... I got bored of counting as I applied the calamine lotion which always used to travel with us.
It was so appalling, my Dad tried to get us out after one week. Say, there was no room on the flight, so we had to stay the fortnight.
In fact, we didn't even get on the flight we were meant to get on, but that's another story - the joy of travelling on employee stand-by tickets!
Never again though. |

Between the horsefly bites and prickly heat (I forgot to take piriton) I'm scratching myself raw .. I've had a cool bath so hopefully that will help.
I get bitten all the time I got told by someone a few years ago its probably due to having sweet blood (that's definitely bullshit) |
