That was the one I was trying to think of couldn't remember what it was called, my nan was fuming with that ending for weeks after she watched it!!  |

Blackadder, a sombre but respectful ending.
Edge of Darkness, if you remember it the series. A dark ending but in harmony with the story.
The original UK House of Cards.
And The Young Ones, driving through a billboard of Cliff Richard off a cliff, genius 
And obviously Breaking Bad  |

Another vote for Blackadder here. Think the ending stuck with a lot of people because it was unexpected in a comedy and was so well done. Also very poignant!! |

First time I watched this was gcse history. My teacher thought it was the best way to show the horrors of going over the top and I’ll agree with him on it, it sank into my memory more than any of the documentaries we had to watch |

First time I watched this was gcse history. My teacher thought it was the best way to show the horrors of going over the top and I’ll agree with him on it, it sank into my memory more than any of the documentaries we had to watch "
Now you've watched that,watch the documentaries where veterans are interviewed about their experiences,such as "the last Tommies" "voices of ww1" etc.
Whilst it was a good ending it is still a sanitised view of the experiences of the men.A quick example,my great grandfather had to go out into no man's land on a daily basis to collect the pieces that were left of men,not just complete corpses with a neat bullet hole through the chest. |

Sopranos had the perfect ending and it was for told several times in the series. Conversation in the boat, the jacket the guy at the counter is wearing the writer knew what he wanted as an ending.
Spoiler alert *
Tony was shot in a restaurant, see also references to the Godfather that Michael became a mafia player when he shot those guys in a restaurant.
