How do you take yours
I have one cup a day at around 11.
For me through much research for a few years now I have single origin beans freshly ground for each brew.
I make it with my aeropress.
Like the cold shower there are reasons why I choose single origin over blends.
And please don’t say Nescafé instant etc is proper coffee. |

First few out of the kettle. Sugar and cow juice included.
After that Double Cappucinos with caramel syrup, I might take a milky coffee out with me in the flask later on depending what I'm doing.
Often have my last one around 3pm

I drink espressos with half a teaspoon of sugar. Using one of those Italian paper pods.
Occasionally I make a cafetiere using a blend of ground beans although I have been known to grind my own on occasion.
What are the benefits of a single origin bean op? |

1 cup a day at around 10:30am, maybe 2 if I'm at the office and go out for a coffee alongside my usual black coffee.
I go for light roasted single origin beans as well and have a hand grinder and a clever dripper at home (or take my Aeropress to the office).
I quite like Central American coffees though as they have a really nice mouth feel |

I like a bit of Robusta in there, 20% sometimes 40%. I grind, measure a double then use a cocktail stick , tamper hard press out a double then add a bit of foam for a macchiato |

Freshly ground beans (mostly single origin though I enjoy an Italian blend). Double shot. Latte for my first coffee of the day, then espresso macchiato boosters as time goes by. Rancilio espresso machine which always delivers. |

At least 3 cups before I leave the house.
My fave at the moment is cafe direct Mayan gold.
Always with creamer never milk and sugar.
I can’t drink instant even when camping I have to have real coffee so have verious options.
Also can’t stand high street chains, I have often wondered why we get Costa and Starbucks, yet go to other countries and they have coffee shops that serve a decent cup were you can sit chill and watch the world go by. Not the buckets of swill they try to sell you in this country. I put it down to the American influence, and let’s be honest anyone who has been there knows they wouldn’t know a decent coffee even if they were drowning in it. |

Several bucketloads per day.
If I'm at the boyfriends it's single origin beans, from a local roaster, ground fresh as required in either a Cafetiere, drip machine or v60 depending on how heavy a day we are going to have.
Because of energy issues (disabledAF) and my husband not drinking and therefore understanding how to make coffee I've gone with ease. I have a Nespresso machine which I use single origin pods from Grind in Shoreditch |

Mornings aren't complete without a couple of Moka-pots.
If I'm out, normally an Americano with a splash of milk. Macchiato in the afternoon/after dinner or if I'm in a hurry, and the occasional Flat White if I'm feeling it, but I don't love milk so this is rare. |

I saw my first Aeropress at work this week. It was a vintage one, lol.
I also prefer beans in my grinder and my cafetiere. I did have an Oomph a few years ago, but it broke.

What ever method takes my fancy, Mokka pot (brew on stove), Chemex (drip brew) or a Aero press, coffee does taste different depending on how you brew it. I like to try different speciality blends, currently a gorgeous columbian bean. Anyone looking to move away from instant, id definitely recommend trying an aeropress at £30. My cheap grind recommendation would be the Nicaraguan blend from Aldi about £2.50 per bag. |

Proper coffee from fresh ground beans if I have time if not it’s a caramel latte sachet. I don’t add flavoured syrups to the proper stuff and surprisingly for me a huge milk lover only a wee bit or none if I’m feeling adventurous. Though I am probably a heathen as I leave it until it’s nearly cold to drink it. Too many years of working through tea breaks to care what temperature it is unless it’s stone cold. |

Can't go without my coffee - honestly think I get withdrawal sometimes - if the spoon doesn't stand in the cup, it's too weak. Not a fan of fresh ground though, seems to give me acid reflux. Instant all the way.
Sugar first - 2 spoons.
2 heaped coffee. Tiny drop of moo juice in last.
Now that you know, when am I coming over?? |

I have about 3 cups a day. Currently on instant because the guy who runs our coffee and tea area refuses to buy filter papers, so our coffee machine is sat gathering dust!
White and 2 sugars for me (preferably in a bucket rather than a puddle cup). |

Could you buy your own filter papers or would that cause ructions? |

It's my daily elixir - morning, noon and night - without fail, and without which I would only feel partly human.
I have my indispensable Bodum™ cafetière with its own 'heat jacket' (I prefer my paramours to be hot; I expect my coffee to be hotter).
Single origin or blended, or whatever the provenance - I don't mind as long as it's served slightly sweet and with warm skimmed milk. |

Real coffee lovers turn away
I drink Nescafé Azera with milk, no sugar. Only once a day, around 11 am.
That's when my energy levels are dangerously low and I need a coffee fix quickly, otherwise I kill anyone or anything that breaths in close proximity

Could you buy your own filter papers or would that cause ructions?" we all pay £5 a month into the tea/ coffee fund. I could buy my own filters but then that’d mean I’m either drinking 12 cups of coffee to myself or I’m paying an extra £8.50 on top of my £5 to provide everyone else with papers. |

An Aeropress was bought originally for camping at Download. Mr Salty didn't read the instructions (of course) and thought the numbers up the side were for number of cups required from one pressing. The resulting half bag of coffee used made quite a mess but was certainly strong
Now the Aeropress is used every morning in place of the drip coffee maker. There’s also a Stove top coffee maker.
Malaysian or Vietnamese if buying at source when we're there. A robust Columbian is welcome too |

If you want a caffeine kick you need to add robusta beans , most of the stuff sold in the uk is 100% arabica so quite low in caffeine. Try an Italian supermarket or buy robusta beans and blend them into arabica |

I keep it simple and use a cafetiere, first one at around 7.30. Currently my daily is a Colombian blend, just from Lidl (recommend!) and usually have a nicer one after dinner which we grind up ourselves. Interested in an aeropress now so off to google I go! |

Didn’t say you had to take his word as gospel, end of the day, what’s perfect for him isn’t for me (for starters I have milk and sugar in my cuppa), but the guy is a coffee connoisseur there’s no denying. |

I quite like the way I make my coffee, supermarket bought grounds brewed in a filter machine with polymer mesh filter. Usually buy quite a strong dark coffee, a number 4 or 5 on the tesco scale.
A certain other person though refers to my coffee as "filth", apparently it's not proper enough for them. When they visit they bring fancy beans, hand grinder and cafetiere. The bag for the fancy beans tells the exact origin down to the plantation location, the farmers name and what they had for breakfast the day the beans were hand picked, what temperature the beans were roasted at and for how long, and the inside leg measurement of the delivery person who bicycled the packet to the customers doorstep. Or something like that anyway... |

I also have a certain person. For an expresso they weigh the water and time the extraction , it’s has to be exact. But they do make good coffee !
Over here I drink Arabic coffee. They don’t filter it at all , it’s like mud at the bottom & some places add a bit of cardamon. |

Get one! Compared to a cafetiere, the same coffee in an aeropress is much more flavourful. The clean up is easier too . I can't recommend them highly enough. |

"Arabica beans - Monsoon Malabar
Black
No sugar
.
Jamaican Blue Mountain (Arabica bean)
Black 9 times out of 10
With milk very rarely.
No sugar
"
Where do you buy the blue mountain ?
When I was in Jamaicai I was buying a local supermarket bean called high mountain, technically not blue mountain, but locals told me it’s as good and a fraction of the price. Blue mountain have an extra few meters of height that’s all |

I like my aeropress for what camping but it’s not as good as a machine.
A cafetiere is a very different type of drink. For best results you need a coarser grind and let it brew for exactly 4mins. I drink it black with a little bit of honey.
Out of all the parameters , the grind is probably the most important to get right. Always use a burr not a blade grinder and grind for the method of making / extraction time. |

"Loving tje amount of coffee nerds
I just love the amount of coffee I can consume in the morning.
What time do you start drinking it?
And how many?..
Tea for me & always have one nearby "
Start time - whenever I wake and walk downstairs.
And I’ll have at least 5 before dinner time. And it’s normally 3 before I leave the house. |

I have a coffee subscription from the Monmouth Coffee Company which costs me £15 a month across two deliveries and the coffee is delicious, I have it ground for a stove top.
If I’m out and about then I look for independent coffee shops, I’d rather use them than a chain as the coffee is generally better. If I have to source my caffeine from a chain then I don’t mind Cafe Nero.
I definitely need a couple of bolts of caffeine in the morning just to make me come around and try not to drink coffee after 6pm because I find that I just can’t sleeep and the caffeine buzz really does keep me awake. |

I'm not allowed to say, but a Google search will find some. That's very interesting about the slightly lower coffee grown however. I bet the plants are almost touching ! |
