There's no such thing as a 'bad' Clint Eastwood movie, just different degrees of awesomeness. I'll steer clear of the spaghetti westerns and dirty Harry films, they're just too obviously great!
If I'm looking for deep and emotional, Million dollar baby and Gran Torino are world class movies. If I want to just lose myself in an enjoyable film I'd probably watch either of the 'which way' films or possibly paint your wagon! |

‘The Rookie’ was terrible (imo) and I’m a massive fan - arguably my fave actor of all time.
Besides the ones mentioned. Also good -
Magnum Force
Coogans Bluff

"Love those old films, thinking I need a sergio spaghetti western weekend , widescreen with surround sound of that Italian music , was that Clint in those movies ?

The ‘Dollars Trilogy’ - it was indeed Clint
I have an interesting story about how Clint got the role; Apparently it was initially offered to Richard Harrison (not to be confused with the late Richard Harris) - star of many a sword and sandal epic from Italy in the early 1960’s.
Unfortunately for him though, he was forced to admit to Sergio Leone that his riding skills were not exactly on par however so instead recommended Eastwood (who had experience in the saddle as he demonstrated in his Rawhide days).
And the rest as the saying goes, is cinematic history |

Some more Clint trivia: the role of Dirty Harry was originally given to none other than old blue eyes himself, Frank Sinatra but he pulled out at the last moment due to an ostensible injury to his hand.
Clint later recalled the story but cited that Sinatra was actually likely lying about the injury and that his abandonment of the role was more likely due to Sinatra’s concern that the role might tarnish his reputation.
As it was, could anyone have played the iconic role better than Clint? I think not!

I watch Clint Eastwood movies over and over but when I want a real full on nostalgic make me feel better and restore my faith in the world type Clint session, late at night, settle myself down with a bottle of Bulleit Rye Whisky, (take the top off and throw it away.. that won’t be needed again!) my dedicated whisky glass and I put on “A Fistfull of Dollars” |

I know what you're thinking: "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk? |

You really must go onto YouTube and search the Danish National Symphony Orchestras versions of music from the three “Dollar Movies”
They are brilliant |

No mention of Letter from Iwo Jima/Flags of our fathers- war films that are up there with Platoon, Hacksaw ridge and Shaving Ryans Privates for quality.
And lets not forget his fine performance as Gunney Highway in Heartbreak Ridge! |

Sorry but I would put Heartbreak Ridge as one of Clint’s worst movies ever. The only thing that makes the movie worth viewing is that we get to see Clint being Clint ! But we get that from every other film he has ever made! |

Doesn't Clint have an allergic reaction to horses too? |

Apparently it’s true and he has to subsequently limit the amount of time he spends on them during filming It’s bizarre to think of Clint, so iconic in the saddle in so many of his roles, having to jump off the horse quick in between takes |

"No ones mentioned Paint Your Wagon, the guy can't sing but god I love that film. "
I mentioned it. It's one of my favourite movies/musicals and yes I have to agree he's no singer. |
