| Liberty elite.
After putting it off for a while we decided we would get along to Liberty!
The good
There is ample car parking that’s provided free of charge enough for a full night
The décor is fantastic and very well maintained the bar area and dance floor feels and looks very much like a chilled out up market night club, combined with a good sized outdoor/smoking area.
The club is clean throughout the toilets and locker area is immaculate and the play areas (at the start of the night) were as well!
The bedding is interesting for a swingers club, they have shunned the idea of the “plastic mattress” in favour of real linen bedding (covered in a bath towel to start with), it IS quite nice and different not “sticking” to a bed but I don’t think this should be some mandatory thing for all clubs, just a nice difference!
Lockers are spacious and two towels are provided for you they also separate out the couples/single female’s locker area from the single guys which is a pretty good way of doing it.
There are a LOT of play areas, upstairs has 3 lockable rooms, two of which have a double bed the 3rd has 3 double beds together! Downstairs has a lockable “sex swing” room and another lockable double bed room and then the main “playroom” consists of a Large hot tub (I think it’s able to take in the region of 28 people max), several beds round the room and one large “free for all” bed in the middle. This main playroom is situated right next to the locker room so for those who don’t want to walk around the club in the buff (towels/lingerie) you can change in the locker room and dive right into the main playroom.
We didn’t spend much time with the hosts but we were given a full tour with all rules and shown all the facilities right as we got in and later on got to spend some time talking to the owner and it was fantastic getting the history of Liberty and how it came about he also seems very keen to get feedback and do what’s needed to create a great experience overall.
The club offers two showers a private lockable one upstairs and a more public one opposite the hot tub.
There is a large dance floor with an in house professional DJ in the middle it has a “pole”, it was not heavily used on the night we attended but then it was a fairly quiet night and would like to see how used it is on a busy night.
A buffet was provided free of charge, I can’t stress how welcome a “bit of food” is at a swingers club often you’re in a rush to get ready and get out the door so having something to eat when you get there is a really nice touch.
The bad
Cost, at £50 for membership, £35 entry and then a bar for drinks it’s a hefty cost for a club especially in the midlands and when membership is paid each visit could easily cost a couple £70 plus whatever it costs to travel there. I guess there is a value for money aspect is it DOUBLE the worth of some clubs? It’s very hard to say and this will be an individual choice to make. I get there are over heads, staff to pay, DJ and a LOT of washing to do after every night so I don’t begrudge the club putting a price point for this out there but it IS the most costly “club” night out we have had by far.
Play areas, while there are indeed a lot of areas they are pretty much just a “bed” or several beds put together, for a club like this with the space they have I would like to see a bit of invention in the play areas, a dark room, a glory hole area, a grope area, a viewing room, some variation in the “larger” play areas. Many clubs make the play areas the entire focus of the evening and at Liberty it feels as if the play areas are a secondary. They are well maintained and done out but they lack that variation that (imo) makes the best swinging club night out.
There is a wide array of dungeon style equipment, the issue is that its situated right next to the dance floor and not in a separate area I would think this means this area gets very little use on a night and certainly no one used it on our visit there (from what we saw). It’s a shame as if it was located in its own separate area I would think it would get far more use (much like other clubs do).
There is a little bit of a disconnect between the social areas and play areas, possibly down to the dress down policy but it’s hard to put the finger on exactly why possibly because they are in different areas of the club and from what we were told play is not allowed in the social areas, but it does create a quite sanitised feeling for a swinging club (some might find this as a positive but we tend to love seeing all sorts of action going on everywhere!)
Summary
Its easy to see why Liberty elite gets such high ratings and high praise a lot of effort has been put into this club and even though the night we went on (SDC UV event) was quiet it was still an enjoyable night which is much to the credit of the club I imagine the place can really rock when full. Like everything there are bits and bobs that could be changed or improved but there is no doubt this is one of the top clubs we have been too in the UK. I would love to give it a proper assessment on a busy night next and see how it is. We would defiantly attend again but hasn’t jumped above our favourite clubs yet!
If I was using the star system it would get 4/5!
