Newcastle 2014 social Saturday 8th of Feb part 2
Jump to: Newest in thread
We are always trying to make the socials a bit better for everyone attending and would now like to start offering a meet and greet service for new attendees who may feel a little shy, daunted or just nervous about arriving on their own. We would therefore like to ask some of our regulars who are not so shy if they would be prepared to help us out with this. If so drop us a pm and we will arrange for those wanting a meet and greet to be put in contact with you. For those first timers who would like to be met by someone let us know please |

"We would love a couple to meet and greet us prior to our arrival,do guys not arrange this between themselves? "
A lot of people do meet prior and arrange this themselves, however we have had people mention that they would have found coming to the socials a bit less daunting if they were met by someone so we are now offering this to anyone who would find it helpful.
If you do want a meet and greet arranged please let us know |

Hi, we have onky been to a social once before and we did feel as though it was quite daunting and hard to break the ice. I think a meet and greet is a great idea. We are coming along on sat night around 23:00 and it would be great to meet some of you. If we take your fancy please message us and we can all have a drink and chat x |

can i ask how any new cpls can tell who is with the social and who is just a vanila?
We only attended one pub crawl social and found it very hard to meet anyone as most stood in groups chatting and we spent most of the evening trying to work out who was who in some very packed pubs.
we eventually gave up and spent an enjoyable night with the one cple we knew |

Hi, I have never attended one of these and would love to try one, if there are still places can I attend, if not I will try for next month. I don't know any details of where it is, what type of event it is or dress code or anything, so could do with some information, thanks in advance |

for this one as far as I am aware they are going to be in completely seperate areas to everyone else... so no preying eyes for example....
I am just worried that some people are mistaking the word "social" as some sort of codename for "orgy"... of which this isn't! |

"this was our first social in newcastle and wont be the last had a great time meeting old and new friends. it was a great night and thanks to all that made it happen.... till next time " ...We find that a little strange as you organised one yourself a few years back upstairs in the eldon(which was the best weve been to by far Richy)...bit better than trawling the gay bars which we personally dont like at all or would attend |

I'm glad that it was a success and well done to the organisers who will have put in a lot of hard work to achieve this result
but I must agree with you in that we too do prefer a singe venue event,
and hope it might be considered in the future |

see.... it is a double edge sword re venue...
you are not going to be able to please everyone! if the venue isn't to your liking, there is nothing to stop you from organising a social with the type of venue you like...
however sometimes the amount of effort that goes into organising is a lot more than people realise...
and the problem is there are loads of people who always wait on someone else to organise.... step up!!!
its one of the reasons I stopped doing it... its one of the reasons when people ask me if I would reconsider I tell them not a chance...
just the amount of bickering and politics played out was enough for me...
as for how many go... the way I look at that is if you put your name down, and you decide not to go... its one less than it would have been (especially unfair it is it place limited.. you are depriving someone else of being able to go!) the point is to socialise.. does it matter if it is 10 or 100?
the socials have come a long way since I use to do them.... I just wish more people would get behind people who put their heads on blocks or it will deter others from trying it.... the more events the better for the region |

unfortunately i missed this social, and have had nothing but criticism for it, even from folks who it didn't even concern, no wonder most folks don't go to socials now, for those willing to stab others in the back- take a long look at yourselves before doing so |

Just for the record everyone is entitled to their own opinion but please let's not argue over minor points. The object is simply for everyone to have a good time and meet friends old and new. The location and venue are secondary as its the people who make the event not the venue. Like _abio says if they are not to your liking please organise an alternative we would love to be your guests

Sorry to hear you are getting grief for not attending. I would however like to point out that a lot of people are going to the socials in fact over 140 were there on Saturday so hope you make the next one |

as one of the origanal organisers of the pink triangle social along with john n shaz tyneside4fun the pink triangle was picked for the great atmoshere gay area swinger freindly pubs and clubs theses have been going on round about 6/8 years (just off the top of my head) always well attended great party atmoshere , may i add theses socials are a lot of very hard work to sort send out emails , lists of hotels to ppl who have to travel from afar , worked with john and shaz with a lot of these nights out and i can you it aint as simple as that to get off the ground .
if you aint been to one get yourself attended its been some of the best nights we have ever been to and we have been all over the uk for socials ,just a pity we have missed the last cpl due to work and holidays . till next and sir well done to keeping the tradition of the ne socials going. |
