Delta 32 mutation means he's one of the few who have some immunity to HIV the virus cannot enter the cells for replication.
I suggest if he's going to be a regular playmate is both get tests at least 2 sets 6 weeks apart full screens bloods swabs
If he's a one off then really do you want chance that? A regular won't mind using condoms till you BOTH know you're std free |

Hi. Well as far as I understand it (the official name being CCR5-delta 32) is basically one of two residences to HIV. So of you think of HIV as a chest your blood keeps shut, delta 32 locks the chest.
So you should be fine. But i would always recommend that use condoms. It's so simple and just saves the worry |

Seconded. Also a quick Google search has yeided the delta mutation. Playing advocate could he just be saying that so you’ll go bare? Defo get tested regularly before going unprotected. Good luck op. Xxx |

Fear is a good thing makes you consider the right path for you.
If he's going to be a regular build up trust when you do trust him you'll not feel scared. Build trust by proving to each other you look after your sexual health. But also consider he barebacks others so calculate the risk you want to take unless he can be trusted to be an exclusive bare partner and you both use condoms with others continuing regular testing |

The decision is up to you it's your body, as another has said don't be pressured into it, liking someone doesn't mean you have to trust them.
It's manipulation if he says "if you like me we should go bare" everyone knows bare feels better but it's your health on the line so it's your decision and you shouldn't be coerced. |

What about other STIs? Just because he says he can't catch or transmit HIV what about hepatitis or herpes or gonorrhea?
This sounds really dodgy to me and maybe you need to speak to a sexual health expert before you ask a bunch of random people like us!
My advice? Try your local clinic and in the meantime, put him on hold.

All my alarm bells are ringing here. No partner should ever be pressuring for bb right out the gate. My big worry here is that there are many other sti’s than hiv which lets face it. You should not be wxiected go ignore. I 100% respect people’s ability to choose but for me, something’s off here. Good luck OP, just don’t rush into this till your ready |

Yeah don't let him pressure you into making a mistake, it only takes once to get an infection. He could have something undetected even if his last test was clear. You're supposed to stay clear of sex for 3 weeks before your std test, so he could have backed with someone in that incubation period and the results not show. If he likes you he would understand your concerns and let you do what you need to, or he might like you, but maybe he's just not the right fit if he's so self concerned |

I would be worried. If you are not comfortable having sex with him without protection and his refusing to use condoms I would stir clear. If he really respects you at all he would use them until you both get tested and he proves it to you that his clean and clear so there's no risk to your health. |

OP... You're willing to go bare with women, men aren't that much higher risk than women...

Don't do it..
If the guy is genuine then he will understand..
I wanted a guy on here to fuck me so badly .. He insisted it would be bareback.. he was the Dom. I was the sub who told him to fuck off.. don't be pressured.. But your body, your choice, your health..
Stay safe... Alarm bells here |

After reading countless posts on the forums about why don’t straight couples want to play with bi guys and I hope I don’t offend you but surely this is why?
I can’t believe in this day with all the information someone would believe some guy who who said some rubbish about it’s ok to bareback him be because he has some Genetic mutation that stops him from catching and passing on HIV.
Please think is it worth the risk???? |

You only have his words for it regarding HIV. But there are a multitude of other STIs to worry about.
Syphillis is on the rise quite rapidly and although it can be treated no one really knows the long term effect as it still shows in your blood after treatment. Gonnoreah is also on the rise and is becoming antibiotic resistant.
Add to that herpes and HPV are not curable. And the use of antibiotics is causing a multitude of issues.
STIs are evolving all the time and you are silly if you take someone's word for it on a first meet. |

Anyone can claim anything and be bullshitting, especially those that push for bareback. You are taking a chance, he probably takes bareback loads all the time. He could have other diseases waiting to greet you including Hepatitis C which you cannot be immunised against like you can A & B. |

Him saying he is and him actually being are 2 very different things and as others have mentioned, there is plenty of other STDs you can catch from barebacking. I would never considering it unless it was someone I knew, trusted and they had proof that they was very recently tested and clear |

The responses on this thread have been excellent and Lilly sums things up really well.
CCR5-delta32 appears to confer immunity to HIV-1 in a proportion of the Caucasian population.
It's worthwhile noting the conclusions of a meta-analysis of research on this subject that was published in 2018.
Meta-analysis is a statistical tool that integrates and compares the results of multiple related research studies taking into consideration variations in characteristics that can affect overall estimate of the outcome of interest, which is used to evaluate the published literature in terms of validity and quality.
The meta-analysis found several limitations in the data published:
Most of the studies had been English or Chinese; this may have resulted in bias in suggesting that there was a protection factor afforded by the Caucasian ethnicity.
The number and the sample size of some included studies was limited and the results should, therefore, be interpreted with caution.
The influences of other relevant components such as age, gender, life style and the interactions of these with CCR5-delta32 polymorphism on HIV-1 infection susceptibility were not analyzed due to the lack of original data.
The study suggested that CCR5-delta32 might confer a possible protection against HIV-1 infection especially in an exposed but uninfected population bu this conclusion should be confirmed by multi-center and large-scale studies based on multiple ethnic groups.
So, in my opinion, considerations for safe sex remain (HIV and others STIs) and, in this particular case (due to my occupation and knowing that individuals will lie and manipulate in an attempt to beat the system to get what they 'want'), maybe evidence of having this actual gene polymorphism.

That's a bit of a leap. I can't recall ever seeing a thread before about male/male bareback yet there's plenty of threads about male /female bareback.
On the evidence of these forums, it's the hetero couples who are the greater risk. |

I agree with you and the last thing I wanted to do is offend anyone.
We would never play bareback with anyone whether they was straight bi or gay as it’s just not worth the risk for us but everyone has their preferences so it’s up to them
But what the OP was saying sounds like a very high risk thing to do and that he was even considering it is very alarming to be honest. |

Move at your own comfort. If you only want to play with a condom then stick to it, and if your partner keeps insisting on going bareback I would reconsider them being your partner. Maybe if you both coupled up and became exclusive, then it might be more reasonable for them to push for bareback, but if they're that insistent on playing bareback with a new partner they probably won't have your best interest at heart. Besides, it's easy to say "I'm immune to HIV etc." But it's not like he's going to whip out a doctor's note with it |

Something else too consider here, HIV isn’t the only STI.
In fact it’s not even the worst, it’s just the most well publicised.
With modern day meds having HIV or even AIDS isn’t A big issue if treated correctly.
But hepatitis now that’s a different story.
Fact is, condoms aren’t only for HIV.
If this partner insists on going raw to be a regular and this is insisted on early on.
Can you really trust that your the only one he goes raw with?
If not, can you take that risk.
You go raw with only him, he goes raw with 3 others, they go raw with 3 others.
That’s 9 peoples sexual health you have to worry about, but it doesn’t stop at 3.
Keeping the chances statistically valid, you’d have many degrees of separation before the risk of infection becomes unlikely assuming there’s only one infected person in the bunch, which lets be honest isn’t likely.
I’ve played with many partners for many years, never caught anything.
I limit my risks, I always use protection with new partners, if she develops into a regular, we both exchange previous tests and get new tests.
Even then it’s only anal, as I don’t trust other forms of contraception. |

Indeed, but it doesn’t cover all the high risk strains that may cause cancer and women are still advised to continue to have smears. Also, heterosexual men and women after the age of 25 will have to go privately to get it and it’s very expensive, even though the FDA in the US advises it up to the age of 45.
