Yes black and white is good. Light and dark, shadow and contrast make pictures stand out

I prefer colour, but I'm drawn to it. Easier to make a black and white image look good. Colour is harder.

I agree and I like to play around with black and white. It can look very erotic. But I like colour too, sometimes it gives more rawness (abd I don't mean chaffing!)

I love it, it’s classy although I tend to think that b and w photography doesn’t do very well on top pics

It is much harder to do good black & white than colour. Correct lighting is critical

In my opinion good black and white photos need to be taken with light and shade in mind at the time of shooting.

Some black and white photos are very erotic, but in my opinion too many on here just use the bw filter in photo editing software and they just look naff.

PetiteWoman, yours are an exception and very erotic.

I do love black and white photography and we have a few in our photos, however the bulk of them are in colour. Rough with the smooth and all that

For someone who's partner is pro photographer seen him spend ages getting the light and shadows right for stunning photos. B & W filters give an affect but using lighting to get a stunning effect is an art and a skill, no photo software or B&W mode on camera can reproduce that.

Both can be beautiful, but it depends upon the beauty and eroticism of the subject and the skill of the photography. There are some profiles on Fab that are entirely black and white that are very sexy, others less so, similarly with colour.

Most of our profile pics are black and white... I love the atmosphere, and for some reason there is always a heightened eroticism with black and white.

But I also love landscape photography and colours in nature are just magnificent

All the shows and exhibitions we do, it is amazing how people are drawn to the B & W pictures. Can see it in their faces and expression they definitely conjuring up emotions.

B&W can make some pictures much better and turn them from “porn” to “erotica”.

That said, I do like both.

We love both, but there is something very erotic about B&W photographs. Quite like the edited splash of colour effect in certain black and white pictures too.

For me it’s monochrome all the way. If I’m feeling adventurous I may add a colour pass for a splash of accentuated hue.

There is something both evocative and authentic about black and white. It’s almost if the absence of colour reveals some kind of truth underneath... even though black and white is demonstrably not authentic to the world we experience. Perhaps the fascination comes from this tension between ‘perceived authenticity’ and actuality? I’ve no idea really... they just look beautiful and mysterious and truthful and erotic and gritty and raw... sometimes all at once.

The science I do learn in the studio lol.

We (Humans) see better in B & W / light and shade, than we do in colour. Colour for the brain is hard work in interpreting , B & W is like an immediate hit of endorphins. The brain reacts much quicker and more intensely to monochrome, why it can evoke such strong emotions in people.

We like both.

Caroline's first boudoir set had a mix of colour and monochrome, plus a few that were a combination - some of those are awesome.
