Who would do the inviting?
While I agree a BDSM section would be great, I;m not convinced the lack of inclusion of having it as a closed subsection of the forum is something that I agree with. While I assume that understandably that is to stop the "euuugh weirdoes" type responses thatsometimes occur on here, I;d support a your kink is not my kink but your kink is okay form of moderation over exclusivity |

I beleive theres a differance between swingers slap and tickle and BDSM.
Being in both worlds I beleive they should be strictly seperated.
Swinging is sex focused. Bdsm is power exchange, proticols & sexual kink. Plus tons more but too much to write here.

One of the annoying things that can happen in a dungeon is where couples indulging in sex play (when there is a serviceable couples room), they become surrounded by a crowd of voyeurs getting in the way of people genuinely wanting to use the dungeon for non sex bdsm. The recent event at Sin City at the Coronet is an example.
I agree there is a place for sex play bdsm at events. But at events it should be clearly advertised that sex play is permitted and the areas for sex play should be separated from non sex play areas at kink events. I have on more than one occasion had to warn ardent advances against my tied sub from intruding people that they get hit by my whip at their peril.
I think the revamped HDZ That used to be held at Kestrels got it right. If people wanted sex they could go to a cabin or a locked room.
I tend to be of the view that if the sexual activity could go on without adverse comment in a public place at a swinging event it may be Daily Mail kinky but in my view it is not bdsm.

Indeed, foot in both camps these days, many clubs seem to be having crossover nights, and almost all have some sort of dungeon area, so there is certainly an interest. |

BDSM encompasses many different things, when I was on the specialist site a lot it didn't always involve dungeons and lots of equipment. Often a lot of psychologal stuff and ways of showing power and control. It usually seemd to work for me and the others involved, I did get invited back for seconds. |

I'd like to see two new sections, one for BDSM and another for dating, as they're both quite different from swinging. But lots of posts still might start in the lounge, as happens with politics posts, just because that's where most people hang out. But I don't see why there shouldn't also be a subsection
Certainly if there's one for bikers then it's crazy not to have them for genuinely related themes like BDSM and dating |

I do think a seperate forum would stop a lot of the kink shaming that currently happen. But I;m sill not seeing any benefit or real explanation as to why it needs to be approved posters only. I;m sorry but is smacks of exclusivity at best and a clique at worst and to me that's not what kink or this forum is about |

In an ideal world yes, everyone would be able to chat openly and nicely, but even as now, people would join in on threads that have no relevance to them whatsoever just to try to get a rise out of people. If each section of the forum had its own dedicated Mods then it could work as they can remove comments or people that aren't helping. However, I don't see fab being that dedicated to what their members actually want |

In the same way that pics are moderated there are a lot of kinks that aren't allowed to be discussed.

Take people with a big/little fetish, or people who enjoy consensual non consent. Fab is not the place for them but it's fine for people to enjoy that kind of play. It would end up being a very limited forum that would take up more than its share of moderators time and could lead to people being banned for accidentally bringing up the wrong kink. |

Just start a thread for whatever fetish/kink you want to chat about then use the forum search tool if it is something reasonably tame and you don't mind people taking the piss.
Or use one of the fetish sites already out there.
If people are serious about kink I'm sure they know which sites to visit. |
