Bizzarley I had this conversation at a social last week.
We both thought there was something 'not right about an over a year old profile with no veris at all. Don't ask us to describe what we meant by 'not right' though  |

I don't think you can really assume much from a lack of verifications alone. There's many reasons why someone might not be, they might have met people but not wanted the veri, they might have only met other no verified users, they might have just returned to the site after being inactive for a time, fab might not be their primary site - case in point, the girl sleeping next to me while I write this, I met via OKC. That's obviously not gonna receive a verification.
I think a veri can be a plus for people, as it may provide someone with a bit more confidence that you are who you say you are, but I don't see a lack of them being a negative. |

I've not been officially verified 'on-site' despite a meet a few months back when neither party could verify because neither were verified! After that, I didn't bother to deal with or think about verifications.
From what I've seen of some things here, some veris are not 'foolproof' or even valid. I even doubt I'll be getting any veris over the next year!!...Besides, meets or no meets, I like being here. I don't think I have pissed anybody off, I think I'm a pretty decent chap, I try to engage when I can on these forums, and I'm not hurting anyone. Does it really matter if I don't have any veris, and may not get any at all?!! |

Meet the people who meet your own criteria and don't think about the rest.
Some people take breaks for various reasons and different periods of - single men especially find it hard and could go a long time before getting the verification op expects. They may also be meeting others who are not verified, possibly tons of meets.
Everyone respecting site rules is welcome and increases choice.
Just use a very as an element in your assessment of others. We all started without them and could be equally great partners |

OP.
Two years ago I worked in the Scottish Highlands for 6 months where meets were as rare as Rocking Horse Shit!
Add to that mental health issues caused by my job, then I got out of that job, moving into agency work for 3 months then fell ill for 3 months before getting back into f/t work.
So for 15 months, I'd no meets as I hadn't the will to do so.
My reasons but would you think bad of me for not having Veri's? |

It doesnt worry or bother me. There are more sites than this one and they could have been meeting people via another site ... i was here for many years with no veris as i used another site far more and met people via the other sites.
Or they arent interested in getting veris.
Or they havnt found anyone they like enough to meet yet. |

We was blocked after 3 weeks until we done our photo verify and that was with a meet verify. Maybe someone reported us as thought was a single guy pretending. |

When we joined we got photo verification but don't collect scout badges, random sharp objects or taxidermy, oh correction, we do collect the last two...
But if Xtasia did air miles...we are frequent fliers
So meh, we don't care |

Haven't read all of this thread so may be duplicated!
People may have many verification's but choose not show them. We have not showed all of ours!
Lots of verification's might suggest easy, not fussy etc.
Personally we stay away from anyone that has lots of verification's.
So we guess that for some they work and for others they don't.
As in many discussions it comes down to the old adage of personal choice!

I've been on here almost 16 months and wasn't verified until recently. Just down to the fact I didn't meet anyone and didn't use the forums to get verified |

exactly this for a guy they it shouldn't matter at best they are a minor safety net to say that person turns up but as everyone's taste varies so much they mean nothing in terms if looks performance or anything else that's mentioned eg this one's a keeper,this one is exactly what it says on the tin, met this one for a social hope to be meeting again real soon, treat her right, I've met this one many times etc |

My thoughts are in general that these are people who have no intention of meeting or when it's a couples profile, I think it's a guy pretending to be a couple so he can get off on sending messages and picture collecting |

Verifications can help the trustworthiness of a person but not a foolproof solution. Face to face is always better and in our experience, most of the meets we have are with people we’ve met at parties, who don’t use this site. |
