how come some peaple tell you then are single and would like to meet you then when you ask them to meet then say then cant there with someone

This happene d to us tonight.
The bloke has been texting and speaking to Jason all day. Text to say he was waiting for a train (no idea what that was about but hey) and could he bring a single woman with him!!!!!!!!!!!!!
