Offensive question?

Ive been messaging a lady on here back and forward for an hour or so just chatting generally, and i asked the question "so what sort of things do you like i.e what turns u on or off?" she then stopped messaging me alltogether. Ive appologised for offending her with no reply (which is fair enough) as the last thing i want is to offend anyone. I suppose wat im asking is, is that really such an offensive question on a site like this? |

I would and do do exactly the same as the lady in question. Not cause i find it offensive just extremely boring. If someone mentions sex as soon as i start chatting to them i dont continue the conversation.
Yes i am here for nsa but there is more to me than just sex |

It depends on the person, some like to talk about sex all the time, whereas others like to talk about all sorts of topics.
I'd say like the lady take the lead and don't broach the subject until she starts to show promising signs.

Hi ~Bubble xx
Everyone is different. Some won't stop chat others will.
I'll stop for a ton of Q's that most blokes would assume it's okay to ask.
Best bet is ... look at what their profile says..... people put it on there.

"Ah i totally agree with you but this was after a large volume of messages, my biggest concern is that i dont want to offend anyone"
I personally hate the question i dont want to real of all my likes and dislikes like im writting a shopping list. Maybe ask but in a completly different way, use your imagination to turn the conversation round to sex. |

I agree totally with Diamond... i wont reel it off either...
Besides... What I will say and do with one man I wouldn't do with another.
Similarly .... If ive just finished a days work and my feet are rattlin hot the last thing i feel like doing is going ..oooooo babeh ....ah just lurrrrrrrrve a good ..... etc etc ...... to some bloke ive never even met. |

I don't take offence but it is a bit tedious when you have to say... well it depends on mood I'm in...... as there is a big difference to likes and dislikes depending on mood |

Trouble is, as I see it from pesonal experience, that once that question is asked....... it either means they have no imagination
or
They are knob jockeys and just want a wank whilst the female is describing all sorts of lewd acts to them.
Sorry........it happens |

Well sometimes I feel very naughty and will talk about sex, sometimes I will talk about vacuum cleaners, and sometimes, when Ive had enough of chat on messages, I will stop the conversation. Its not that ive gone off someone, or they've offended me, its just because I dont particularly want to play message tennis anymore, I want to look at the forum or I want to go and look for holidays etc. It could just be something as simple as that |

Hm...not offensive but so tedious and unimaginative. Maybe a sign of a cyber thrill seeker. I would normally reply that our profile is pretty comprehensive but feel free to ask polite questions. Ask me what I'm wearing...then I might block..sigh.

It's not a question of offending anyone with a question like that. It's just a typical reaction. This is generally a very superficial site and although message tennis is fun, guys expect to keep your exclusive attention without realising that there is so much going on, which is understandable. I always say bye though if there is no point in keeping the convo going ie they live too far away for a meet to be made possible. It's just good manners to do that .

i quite agree, most of us are here for nsa but we are def more than just sex, so take it slow as it is really boring to me asked within 5 mins 'would u wear stocking on our meet etc', tedious with a capital T, so chill a bit x |

Women mainly just want men to make them laugh in a conversation, BUT some just like to be complimented and talk about holidays and wine lol
Personally I wouldn't worry about it, as there is over 3 Billion women on the planet, so you are bound to get a nibble one day
Oh and just be yourself and don't try so hard. |

If I get that kind of question, I tell them to read my profile, lets face it, had they read it first, there is then no need to ask the question is there |

but surely at some point you have to cover the subject of sex?
Id sooner know if we wasnt into the same thing on here than after id met them
I actually think its totally reasonable so ask what people are into on here
not in the first couple of question, granted, but after a few messages when it looks like your getting on i think its ok
i dont have time to go out meeting people only to find out then they not what im looking for |

Thats what our profile is for, since we meet bi men there is always a need for a limits discussion, however its easy to spot the difference between someone talking about a meet and its rules and someone asking what are you into. |

I usually find when guys start asking 'sexual' questions it rapidly leads to more detailed sexual text and then it becomes nothing better than delayed cyber sex.
I want to experience sex and sensuality, not to talk about it.
The few times I've answered the questions you just know the guys is jacking off ... so I don't bother any more. Men or women. If they want to know they can meet and talk!

We ask the Op's question after messaging a bit with people who we are interested in.
We are after certain things and we want to know the dynamics are there! Its a hint for them to read our profile again. Make sure we are all after the same things.

I think it was rude not to answer though. At the end of the day, it's a swingers site. Facebook and msn are for normal chat.
After lots of messages, I would have asked what someone was into as well.
At a club we want to know if someone is expecting full swap or not as we don't do it and dont want to waste there time or ours. So we ask almost as soon as it looks like it's going to be more than just a chat. Maybe our guy here was at that stage of the convo?
A simple, "no thanks" is far better than just blanking someone. |
