I would agree with your first statement, but in our eyes the power thing is more the lead up to sex, not so much the act itself unless we are talking sub/Dom Etc.
The power is in the giving, not giving & the taking away surely?

I would disagree.
Although it is about pleasure mostly for me. Often, (when I'm ovulating usually). I get the urge to have sex. I don't want pleasure, I just want sex, and come inside me and then done. No pleasure involved. Just an animal instinct. |

Some people do use sex as a form of power over others. Rape routinely used as a weapon in conflict and I understand that its used as punishment in gangs etc. Some people exert their power in relationships via sex too.

I'm sure there are plenty of men and women who can't have kids for one reason or another that see sex as a way to make babies , and are pretty upset that they are unable to do so .
I agree that humans see sex as a pleasurable experience , from a wank to full intercourse . I think we and a species of monkey are the only animals who see it like this .
Is sex a power thing ? Possibly for some , but we see it more as a purely pleasurable thing , and in its various guises with all its permutations power over another isn't high on our radar . |
