It's not double standards - It's their OWN standards and they have every right to run their time on here as they see fit, that includes blocking who they want to for whatever reason they decide to! |

Rephrase that to "some people have standards"
" They either want a message or they dont. We cant please everyone with the messages we send. "
Who are you to say they want a message from you, especially a pathetic one.
Who is to say they didn't look at your profile and see you can't accommodate.
Who is to say they didn't look at your profile and just see yet another 'single' bloke with cock pictures everywhere.
Who is to say they didn't read your profile and see the safe sex box ticked but a picture where you obviously do bareback.
Who is to say that the same old boring profile, seen on a million men's profile didn't put them off.
Who is to say that they didn't just block you so that it saves you the trouble of getting in touch with them AGAIN... all in vain.
Who is to say that you have the right to whinge about a couple who obviously don't want anything to do with you.

I made a similar point on another thread: you need to be 'thick skinned' to be on a site like this because there are so many issues that will cause upset if we let them. Basic amongst these is a lack of basic courtesy and manners. I absolutely agree that a quick "No Thanks" takes seconds if you're not interested or a "Sorry have made other plans/changed our minds" if arrangements are still being made. It does also require the rejected party to be big enough to accept rejection without lashing out with abuse. |

"
I disagree with you!
The FIRST sentence of my profile states I'm not meeting until December due to medical reasons. It then goes on to state if you DON'T meet what I'm looking for I wont reply, so don't waste your time.
Now, to make it as simple as I can for the mentally challenged, I've even set out WHAT I'm looking for: tall, single, straight, white, sub, local, men over 45 who can accommodate (I don't do hotels - ever) - easy peasy.
Are you honestly telling me if you were me and you got a message from a married bi guy who was on business "in my area" who wanted me to dress up in a mini skirt and stockings (I'm a size 24 Domme) and give him a blow job you'd write back?!!
Really?!! |

Well I think you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.
I have specific preferences on my profile and yet still get mail from unsuitable people. I started by replying and saying "thanks for your interest but no thank you" and was surprised and disappointed at the amount of abuse that I received in response. So, that has now got me to the stage where if you are not what I am looking for I no longer respond I just delete.
So I can actually see both sides of this argument. |

They have the blocking facility the same as you do....if they choose to block then it's their business, you only have one side of the story to go on so how can you make such a judgement? |

So what part of "don't waste your time contacting me if you're not what I'm looking for as I won't reply" don't people get?!!
If I then go back on my word and reply it sends mixed messages and the mail continues!!
Hat's off to those that can send "thanks, but no thanks" and the subsequent follow up messages to people they don't want to meet!!
My life wont be long enough to do that - that's why I try to dissuade time wasting from the profile stage! |

IT'S NOT RUDE TO BLOCK SOMEONE!
Did I say that loud enough?
It is a site function... do you really think admit would allow a button which sent a "fuck off you munter/twat/freak of nature (delete as appropriate)" message?
Whatever the reason people block other people for, it all boils down to "I don't want to receive a message from you".... that's all.
I rarely use the block button, I prefer being rude to people. But if someone blocks me, I just look at it as they have done me a favour... I won't accidently waste any of my time writing them a message. |

You will know if I rant.
I stick by everything that is written above. And I'm not judging, I was stating facts.
And the couples meet has been withdrawn? What does it tell us?........ that they withdrew the meet, for their own, personal, reasons.
The block button is there, for everyone to use, at which ever point they wish.
It is NOT rude to not reply.
It is NOT rude to block.
It is NOT rude to refuse a meet.
Why......?
Because it's personal CHOICE. |

Being blocked is a clear unequivocal message that says very loudly "No Thanks"! In the case originally cited it did seems a rather extreme response to a message simply asking for a clarification of timing.
As a general site tool, however, it does tell you that someone is definitely not interested and does not want to hear from you ever again...absolutely no room for doubt there. |

Agreed, But we could use the old 'its their personal choice ' response. For example I could send an aBusive email to someone and justify it By stating its my 'personal choice', I just find it a lazy way to explain someones actions |

I wonder if when admin thought about having a block function they thought:
a) that would be handy for people to be able choose who they are contacted by.
b) I know let's have a 'fuck off you spaz-faced arse stain' button for rude people to piss other people off with... oh hold on, we had better not call it that thought.... the spaz-faced arse stains might get pissed off with us.... shall we call it a block button. |

It may be, in your opinion, an over used and lazy response, but it is still free choice, free will and choice.
We choose to block those that write to us with one liners, barebackers etc and those that we would never choose to meet in a thousand years.
We don't want the abuse we have suffered in the past by those that we have refused. We don't want the copy and paste brigade getting in touch with us yet again and it's what WE choose to do. It's no one else's business and it certainly isn't lazy or over used.

But a response that is the only one at times...a bit better than saying
" oh FFS get a grip and stop acting like a whiney child who didn't get your own way, someone blocked your mail, big f***ing deal, if that is the only thing that you have to worry about in life then you are doing ok"
At least with the " it is peoples choice" ( which it is )they are getting a response to their post and not being ignored that way too. |
