...and what for?
Just curious as to what people are considering a blocking offence these days.
Though I've just been the recipient of what I think is a pretty unjust block (and am still rather confused about that), there's no particular axe to grind here, I'm just curious. |

Well us, someone that don't read our profile to see what we are actually looking for, we will send a polite message then block.
Or people that are just generally nasty.

It could be many reasons...or even depend on the persons mood
My main reason for blocking and I hav'nt blocked anyone for ages is just complete pushiness...If I did'nt reply to an email within a minute if I was online Id get a mail asking why I was ingoring them
Another is if someone considers you rude or they just decide you're not for them and find it easier to block you rather than tell you
Plenty more reasons im sure

I only tend to block people when I've been polite and said No Thanks.
And they cannot accept that I've said No.
Fortunately I've not many on my block list.

Hmmmmm, ok. I think I'll have to go along with the "didn't fancy the look of you but didn't want to say so" line.
I thought it was a bit off, being blocked after my very 1st PM (which was well within parameters set by the individual), with no reply.
Oh well, like the Murphy's...I'm not bitter.
I guess different people will use it for different things. I don't think I've ever had reason to yet. Hope I don't either. Seems to be a kind of last resort button for those who just won't butt out and leave you alone. Right? |

for me blocking is something i dont dish out lightly
i like to give people the benefit of the dought
but my main resons are
people who carnt or wont take no for an answere even though ive sent them a polite no thankyou
those who carnt wait for an answere
people who canrt wait for us to read our messages and keep messaging us asking why we arnt sending them messages back
and beggers i do hate beggers if ive sent them a very polite no thankyou for what ever reason i dont like people who seem to think that its ok to come on bended knee message in hand asking for a meet
like i said i dont dish out blocks willy nilly i like to give people the benefit of the dought |

Well this is reassuring at least, as I don't think it was anything wrong that I did. General opinion seems to be that they get dished out only in the face of unreasonable behaviour (which I wasn't doing).

We have not blocked anyone at all, ever, so far, lol, maybe we are lucky to not have or feel to have a reason to block, if ever we do have a reason to block then we sure will.
I'm hoping this post doesn't encourage someone to try to be the first,. lol.

In all the time we've been on this site (and it's been a while) we've never felt the need to block someone. A polite "no thanks" and then ignore them seems to work.

slightly off topic, but someone blocked me the other day in seemingly very peculiar circumstances.
Myself and my ladyfriend both play as singles mostly, but are also looking to play as a couple with couples and singles.
Anyway while perving profiles together recently we found a profile for a couple that really suited us - a very sexy couple who play with guys, girls and couples, and both play alone with all three. Pefect we thought - when I'm not around Von can play alone with either or both of them, and when I'm around either or both can come play with the pair of us, and ease us into the two of us playing as a couple with a couple.
So we composed a nice message explaining that they were just the sort of couple we would like to get to know, that we shared many interests, and suggested we could chat online to see how we got on and take things from there.
Their response was to block us!!??
Now we're both used to having our messages ignored and unanswered occasionally - and certainly we dont expect everyone to fancy us - its par for the course on swinging sites - but does blocking us come across as perhaps a bit of an overreaction?

The block function is so cowardly, I simply cannot understand why folk just don't face up to and deal with things instead of needing to get that last word in then immediately blocking them, how girly is that.
When we get unwanted emails I send a rather caustic reply, which usually does the trick. If it doesn't I simply delete future posts without reading them, which is much more satisfying than blocking as we know that the twit at the other end is expending precious heartbeats on a piece of fiction we are just never going to read, that must drive them wild

Maybe 2 block buttons are required.
One sending a polite response, indicating that the persistent offender has simply pushed a little too far, and the other one indulging in a far more venomous attack. That would most likely take care of the two camps that people seem to fall into. |

the time is right now 20:01 and i blocked a guy less than 4 minutes ago and the reason why is very simple he is a 18yr old bi guy wanting to meet me, i asked him not to mail me, i then asked him another 12 times as he wouldnt stop, i then told him a few times, but he then became abusive saying he didnt wanna meet coz im a fat ugly bitch and not worth meeting, (typical) comment from a guy that has just been rejected so i blocked him... |
