Is bareback becoming the norm now
Jump to: Newest in thread
Not in our experience.
We’ve met a few people on our travels (always in clubs) and have never been asked to go bare.
It’s always been an automatic rubber up, with the only questions ever being about latex allergies
We like to keep it that way |

Definitely not for us with others
We've heard things like , oh he gets shy when he sees a condom
And that's from a full grown man
If Mr J sees a condom , he thinks , here we go , and if anything , gets even harder lol |

I used to work at a lifestyle club a few yrs ago and it was really eye opening when you see the amount of men and women not bothering with protection.
Personally, I value my sexual health so it’s not even up for discussion |

one thing we learned on this scene very quickly over 30 years ago and still the same today is people say one thing and do the other ...
i know loads who preach safer sex and do the opposite on every swinging platform from online to clubs to dogging plus i get to see the real thing with my voluntary help to a local safe sex charity...
bareback sex has always been the bigger part of swinging way way bigger than safe sex and suspect always will be ... hence you should only worry about yourself and do what you want just because someone has said they only play safe means nothing..
me i only go bare with 2 guys both ive known for long time one 30 years one 25 year and both are not swingers anyone else its safer sex...
safe sex is not really true its safer sex things dont protect you 100% plus theres oral and lets not forget other body parts that can spread stuff too like hands
so only way to be safer is to dfo your thing and stick to it..
its a choice

Yes and no. I’m finding a lot more people in the real world are definitely open to bare, it’s rare I would have a encounter and it’s not bare, however I’ve had the snip so it does make it easier on that front.
Ironically it’s the swinging community that are more for safe sex, mainly more because they know the risks etc and thus less likely to play bare.
At the moment we are in a strange stage of freedom, with prep and doxy, it reduces the likelihood of an infection, but this golden age won’t last forever as viruses get more immune to antibiotics.
If you are willing to take the reduced risk and follow good practices, then I think bare can be enjoyed by most. But it is each to their own. |

Well said...you can tell from the others saying "not me" is a blatant giveaway
Just be safe, judge well and for Gods sake dont go shagging someone with needles sticking out of them or a very obvious cold sore on their cock/pussy...and anyone in agony when they pee |

I feel like alot of guys on here say they would only play safe Incase someone checked their comments before a meet but in reality they wouldn't think twice to go bare and fill up a stranger? Esp when their photos show clearly different women and no gloves on. |

We only go bare with each other and always 100% use condoms with anyone else. There does seem to be more people playing bare these days but its really not worth the risk and that's not me putting those down that do it either it's their choice |

It’s an interesting thread this…
In our admittedly fairly limited and totally non-scientifically or statistically proven observation a high percentage, at a guess up to roughly 50%, want bare whatever it actually says on their profile …there are also, of course, those who actually wouldn’t under any circumstances…
It’s a broad church, and we should be tolerant of different views (life does seem to be getting more intolerant of different opinions these days ). |

I think what people say and what they do can be very different. Plus don't forget the virtue signalling that goes on in here. |

It's a personal choice not a "norm"
Yes you can protect from hepatitis and hiv these days, but it doesn't stop sti's
There are allot that will do bareback and allot that won't.
My husband is one that like bareback and I'm OK with this as long as he is tested regularly and uses prep |

"Well if your giving oral without protection then there's no point on insisting on condom during sex.
That's what I always find crazy."
Is that true though? Is transmission the same orally as a anally or vaginally.? |

Several sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including HIV, herpes, syphilis, gonorrhea, HPV, and viral hepatitis can be passed on through oral sex. The risk is less..... but there. Each person has to decide what risk is worth it to them. |

As much as most, if not all of us prefer bare, the sensible part in my brain wins over.
Would I consider it once it became regular with someone? Sure, but not for everyone I meet, and certainly not right off the bat.
Each to their own though.
What I have noticed is lots of men will state safe sex on profile, and get caught in that lie when chatting. That's it done imo. |

Exactly, so much can be transmitted by oral and even hands/fingers and very few understand or are willing to accept this as fact.... We are looking for long term regular friends we can trust, not one off quickies. Always a social meet first. Risk is hence very low for us, yes we have been tested clear and no luck on here since. |

"It should never be the norm! It's a choice for your own sexual health and safety.
It should be a non negotiable unless both parties are openly looking for zero protection..."
Everything to do with a meet should be spoken about, peoples wants, and needs during the whole time need to be known. Such as rough, sensual, c.i.m the list is endless |

"Bareback is only ever when I’m in a relationship with someone, and only after we’ve both had clear tests. I’m not taking chances with my health for anything or anyone "
Some things you can’t test for |

"No, I don't think so, but so many guys who have Safe Sex in their profile are ready to bareback when I say I prefer it. "
Likewise, when I'm contacted by profiles - couples and females - who have 'Safe Sex' listed and I point out that I only ever play bare, the responses are frequently that it's what they actually want...
....I'd say that while BB is not necessarily "becoming the normal", it is likely more prevalent than people may think... |

The comments on here most people prefer without a condom let’s be really honest here, and we know from experience that most people (even people that come onto threads like this one) signalling their virtue, if you said you wanted it bare, they’d be all over it. Just be honest and upfront. |

'Bareback only' on profiles isn't common on the profiles (of older couples) that we tend to view. Have to say though that it isn't that rare either.
It's more irritating when it's not in a profile, but later is then suddenly introduced as a 'must have' by the other couple; which means that we have usually wasted a lot of time and effort. We have experienced this twice now on this forum; especially vexing as our Profile makes clear that we only do safe sex outside our own relationship. |

I'm not sure but there is a lot of virtue signalling around the topic.
Previously when i was meeting I encountered people who were into "safe sex" - turns out that wasn't the case at all.
Then there's the profiles where safe sex is listed but verifications would suggest otherwise. These are VERY common here. |

Bonus points for using the word vexing. |

Well, I could have said that we were pretty Pi55ed over it, but 'over here' that might have implied something else.... |

I wouldn't say it's the new norm.... but we have noticed many more people doing so at clubs.
We use condoms for full sex no exceptions but don't use dental dams or condoms for oral and get tested regularly |

No I don’t believe it’s becoming more common but then it’s never been as rare as people imagine either.
Too much abuse is received by those who are open about playing bareback so most simply don’t advertise the fact. It’s a bit like an iceberg. |

Unpopular opinion maybe:
It's more or less the norm. I love BB sex and while I'm selective, I've not had protected sex in years. I don't go to clubs anymore but the private house parties I go to majority play bareback. I'm told in clubs that's also the case
Bareback is a choice. It's not about right or wrong, it's a personal choice. Important thing is to respect others' choices and not disparage those who's choices differ from yours. |

Condoms are practical in new meets, And in my view necessary, however if your lucky enough to have an FWB then it’s fabulous to have that freedom safety and feeling of heightened pleasure and confidence
Each to their own but …. for me responsibility care and making sure safe play is paramount |

I have to admit, I'm really surprised knowing this. I agree with other comments about personal choice and trusting others. A lady I didn't know I would never presume or desire to go bare. |

More common? Probably not, but there's definitely more bareback going on than is admitted to. I much prefer bare and would choose that most times, am tested and I've had the snip and I know and accept the risks, but am also very selective and believe in open conversation about sexual health with anyone am potentially going to have sex with regardless of if we're using condoms or not. I've used condoms and will continue to, but where the situation is right I'd 100% play bare probably like every one else on here whether they admit it on the forum or not. |

Bare is something that we only do with each other... plus when we play with others it's normally in group situations... so wouldn't make any sense to do so. When I'm doing lots of gg stuff I'm tested monthly at the minimum xx |
