Best live band

Rory Gallagher, Rainbow theatre Finsbury Park in 73/74 can't remember which. Incredible live performer but sadly lost to the world many years ago. We go to a lot of live shows and that one has never been surpassed. |

Best ever...Elton John in his pomp. Mediocre at best for all of this century so most of fab may not get it, but back in 1980, wow!
Most unexpectedly brilliant...Joe Cocker at Cornbury. I'd never heard of him.
Most intimately lovely...Dean Friedman in a country pub.

"Just watched Linkin park, muse, Calvin Harris, 30 seconds to mars and every current top dj in the world over the last 3 days live "
That’s a lot of Airmiles!
My vote is for Rammstein. Lily for Muse.
Rammstein for the whole experience, fire, energy and stage theatre.
Muse for the polished show, slick sound and again full performance. |

Depeche Mode Munich olympic stadium (2013)
Brilliant gig but wow what a weekend.
Friday night fetish club.
Saturday beer hall then to the gig at a massive packed stadium.
Sunday ran a half marathon.
Total mental overstimulation. Loved it.

Back in the day; Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher, Queen and AC/DC.
In recent years Rammstein have been incredible. Who mixes dance keyboards with really heavy guitar/base/drums but the whole spectacle works brilliantly.
Go watch some Rammstein official videos - production, story, music all superb. |

IDLES whenever we see them
Queen (in 1980, they were shit in 86)
Jane's Addiction at a little club in Birmingham just after Nothing's Shocking came out
LCD Soundsystem/Hot Chip in Rotherham a few years ago
I could name 100s, I literally don't have a bucket list of bands I want to see any longer as I've seen them all. |

Now - every Queen's of the Stone Age gig.
Old - The Jam
Always get tickets when Terrorvision or Shed Seven or The Charlatans come to town as they're all always great shows.
New discovery - The Damn Truth, a Canadian band who are simply phenomenal. Don't know the songs but have been blown away twice by the performances. Lee-lah has the purest voice |
