I arrived for the first time in the uk in September 1977 to hear people talk about the mystical "summer of 76" for the next twenty years of miserable summers! I always thought you guys were making it up!! |

We were both ten.
We both lived in villages , her on a scorched hill and me in a valley with both a stream and a river in our back garden .
I spent all summer in and out of the river , a lot of the time naked.
Some of the clayier fields had cracks so big you could fall into them.
When the weather finally broke it rained the biggest raindrops I have ever seen.

I was 19 and spent my summer holiday with some mates from work at Ilfracombe and Woolacombe in North Devon.
We met some girls from Newcastle and had a great two weeks. I remember spending most of the daylight hours on the beach in Woolacombe and most of the night at the Cliff Hotel disco at Ilfracombe.
We stayed at a B&B with two lovely old ladies.

I was in training at RAF St.Athans, think the heat made everyone super randy.
I seem to recall shagging non stop with a never ending supply of fit young men. |

I think we had two consecutive hot summers then and they were bloody hot you can have too much of a good thing but I suspect it may not be many weeks before we have water shortage nature tends to even itself out, I was into water sking then we had a great time |
