Good evening,

Has anyone ever experienced vile Homophobic messages and if so, how do you deal with it in your own head. Not interested in the amoeba that spouted it, I'm looking to seek a way of feeling better in myself.

Mr Misty.

The same way I would deal with any personal attack. Just deal with it and move on. I never surrender to anything or anyone. Never have. Never will. Maybe I am lucky in that approach.

Unfortunately yes, I do tend to get at least two or three each month out of the blue from strangers.

Other than the obvious block and report, I think of it thusly…

… how sad and hateful must someone else’s life be to go out of their way to try and make a stranger’s life miserable ? I choose to spread joy in my life and pity those who would rather choose hate.

It works for me and sorry you had to experience it

One of my friends is a TV and they get loads of abuse. They have developed a thick skin too it but that took time.

The replies they send just wind the abuser up even more

As you’re bi-curious it seems odd that you would be targeted with homophobia. Any idea why someone would be sending you this drivel? I hope you reported them, it’s not just a fab matter it’s a criminal offence.

Hey Mr Misty. Big fan of the Mistys, here

Firstly, remind yourself that you and Mrs Misty are much loved on the forums, and it’s great that you’re opening up and sharing here.

Examine possible motives. What reason could they have, to say what they said? Jealousy being a glaring one. Often what someone says about others when they feel angry, lonely etc is what they fear most about themselves - projection.

Why is it getting to you today? Do you have things going on that are making you feel especially vulnerable? Perhaps they need thinking about.

Practically speaking, I often find writing down shit stuff and burning the paper really cathartic.

Xx

Jealousy definitely a factor, he was trying to chat Misty up and then I think must have read the profile.

A few years ago my daughter experienced racism and as a parent I felt completely powerless. I've taught her that she can't control what other people think but what they think and do shouldn't control her.

There behavour shows the kind of person they are and is not reflective of the person she is and they don't have the power to control who she is or her future triumphs.

Some people are just arsehole and its better they show themselves so we all know who do avoid.

That and a slice of cheesecake goes a long way.

Definitely report the pest. It’s what the button’s there for.

Then spend some time on the forums chatting with people who are not such pests. Restore a bit of that faith in humanity (and in this place).

Then forget about it. Water off a duck’s back. It’s not always easy - brains can be funny things - but it’s the best thing to do.

I generally think that anyone who is so aggressively loud about other people's preferences is probably less certain about their own feelings than they want to admit.

I just don't understand whe people can't just live & let live.

Everyone's told you to just report and block, so that's how to deal with it on the site taken care of.

As for dealing with it in your own head, just think to yourself that you've got a sexy hot partner whom you are deeply in love with and have a very healthy sex life with. Something which your homophobic hater is highly unlikely to have either of!

It’s a shit world and the easily manipulated are caught in the same trap that our leaders want I’m afraid. It’s the press who are stirring the mainstream up to deflect and divide and conquer.

I’d report block and if you want send a message to the idiot explaining you don’t care about their opinion and to mind their own business. Be polite as if your not it might make it think they have won.

Or tell them to fuck off.

And then go for a walk and forget about it.

Easy said than done.

I get loads of transphobic / homophobic messages on here weekly. I just find them amusing as it’s always some insect like irrelevant couple or single woman profile that is probably a guy. Going off.

I don’t think anything they don’t affect me as simply the view of strangers is utterly meaningless to my life It’s just amusing people waste time saying this stuff.

I would say for those that get compromised by such messages mentally, just block delete and forget these people even exist as humans.

Some scrote on the internet, that doesn’t realise you can see some of the first line of a message.

So their hate, message and profile will be blocked and unread and they’re left with me in their head not the other way round.

While not experiencing homophobic behaviour as we're not bi/gay etc, while on a singles profile as a single guy you do get pestered alot by bi/gay guys, and while I wouldn't have a rant (I mean it's obviously what there looking for) etc it can be frustrating when you have straight marked on your profile.

Unfortunately due to the stigma that still exists with bi men, we get more offers for play from “straight” profiles than any other, however it’s a massive turn of for us for anyone to hide their sexuality on here, perhaps in real life with religious family etc we can understand but if you can’t admit you like cock on a sex site your not for us
