The only time I've ever had my cock as an avatar pic has been for a forum challenge but I've never had a negative reaction.

Yes I (as per what is said above) think for many there is a difference in the way a penis is presented in a photo for many. Not exactly a defacto no for many on the presence of any penis. At the extreme end of the scale you have a picture of just a penis as the profile picture. I think we agree that the evidence in general shows that is not generally productive.
I think it's kind of universally accepted about market forces and its far less forgiving for men.
