There is a definite caste system on fab and many who tut tut and are opinionated on who should be allowed to use the site.
I joined to explore new experiences without taking a bull in a china shop approach and while it's had it's moments of unnecessary drama it has generally been a positive experience.
I have am amazing FWB who is on the same wavelength and we will continue to use the site as we please without classing ourselves as "true swingers". |

121 meets not so good, about 75% of folks on here are fantasists, dreamers, timewasters but if you trawl through there are some lovely people.
Some of the forums can be quite toxic.

Initially, because thought people in this community would have a much broader, more open and less judgmental attitude to sex and life in general than some of the people I know from work, in my local community etc.
I have found this to be quite true in some cases, where for example shape, size, age, ethnicity etc really did not seem to matter and that was an amazing experience. These days, I find those people by reading their profiles which are a reasonably good guide as to whether or not we will get on face to face.
By and large I think that the site is really quite a reflection of society, both good and bad.
I still like being on this site and occasionally taking part on the forums.  |

I've been on and off here for several years, both as a single guy and a guy in a relationship.
Initially it was purely for (what i thought) easy sex. Then I was in a relationship that ended being 100% sexless due to past traumas for my then partner. Now I'm back again as a single guy, and yes again it was initially for sex but more and more it's just to connect to people, someone to talk to.
Finding I'm spending more time here in the forum, enjoying the nonsense, the deep conversations, the total bats assedness of it all.
Can't say I'm even actively looking for anyone now. I'm nearly 59, had 3 failed marriages and gods know how many relationships, so perhaps being long term with someone just isn't meant for me.

Good question. When I first opened my account I was in a relationship wherein I/we were looking to start dipping our toes into swinging, but time happened and that didn't pan out.
However, the site does seem to be more than just about swinging (although it is at its core still relevant), but also about the wider aspects of sex play.
I haven't been and 'active user', just login now and again for curiosity's sake more than anything else – never had an actual meet-up, but then Ive never pushed for one.
So why not delete my profile? I think its a reminder that I'm not just some guy, I guess. that's there's other parts of me that are a bit more left field, but not quite 'Fetlife' standard. I don't live the lifestyle, I'm just and interested party. |

In reality because I never left when I stopped meeting some of the more limited descriptions of being a swinger. Perhaps under the crazy idea that being a swinger was more about the thought processes of the person than the circumstances they end up in. |
