Winking & messaging

Can anyone answer this..
So, we have winks off people, or winks back if we winked first.
But then when we message them, we dont get a reply..
We are always polite and write properly (minus the clumsy typing thumbs) and read the bio first.
Is it something we are doing wrong?
We are new to all this so any advice welcome!
Thanks in advance. |

Unfortunately, its fairly commonplace.
I don't want to sound negative but the amount of people on here that return messages are few.
This can be due to the fact their inboxes nat be crammed. Try to ensure that you send your message when they are online |

Its fickle old fab for you. Hence why we dont bother with winks any more. Someone winks, wink back, nowt. Like you're suddenly expected to instigate conversation. Or it's a fake profile, or people simply get bored. So many reasons. Not worth worrying about.

I don’t even check my winks just don’t find them useful at all
I mean if they can’t pluck up the nerve to message me it’s showing me they couldn’t pluck up the nerve to meet

Winks are important for single guys, it's a waste of time sending out loads of thoughtful well composed messages as you'd be on here 24/7 and that would be a depressing use of time. If I receive a wink, then I write a nice message. Leo x |

If I get a wink and they look interesting, I'll wink back. Very rarely will they reply with a message.
But if I reply to their wink with a message, half the time they'll reply. |

I like winking and recieving winks and will always reply to them.
Also, I'd have thought more women would have liked them tbh.
I've often read about how many messages they get, and one of the first things they do is check the profile, so surely a wink showing interest 'should' streamline things for them.
If there is a mutual interest, then the messaging can start. |

...difficult with a hidden profile
I had a run in with a couple over winks. They sent me a wink, so I sent a nice introductory message to them. And...waited. Nothing.
Then 6 weeks later I get another wink. So, I message and tell them I wrote to them previously after their first wink and got no reply so not playing games.
Then she says, oh sorry that must have been my husband. He probably thought you were what we were looking for.
I just explained there’s no second chances on here and she should know that. I told her I could have been there eating her fat arse if they had bothered to talk to each other.
She thought I was rude and I agreed. Being rude is the point on a swingers site. Both blocked each other |

Wink for us is often a starting point. So if we wink, means we can potentially move forward, so expecting either wink back and then we can start exchanging messages, or after us winking we are happy for you to message us first.
I think, winks are a kind of “shy” version of direct messaging.

J " agreed. It's a weird time too. Given that no one can meet at the moment people don't want to start conversations that they can't finish so to speak |

We tend to wink people that we like but aren't sure if we are what they are looking for.
We always reply to winks with a wink back or message unless it is from someone we really don't think is compatible.
I do tend to find most people don't acknowledge winks though |

If we’ve been winked and like what we see we generally wink back and then see if anyone reply’s with a message.
Doesn’t happen often which can be frustrating but we persevere regardless
Good luck |

For me personally as a single man.
I don't see the point in me sending a wink.
If a profile intrigues and engages me enough? then I'd rather send a message to them. **With the appreciation and understanding that these might get deleted.
But I'd rather make an 'effort' to the profile in question, than a (in my mind) lazy wink out. ** Given that a lot of times they are ignored completely.
Yes for couples or single ladies, a wink is a quick little nod to a profile that they are 'interested' in you from what they can see in your profile.
As it's an understandable 'double standard' driven from the amount of time available and messages received for couples and single ladies.
If I can't be arsed sending a message to them? Then obviously the profile doesn't do enough for me (if I fall in requirements).
So why then waste my time and theirs with a wink. |
