Bare is becoming more acceptable generally. However, there is a lot of ignorance around prep. Not sure if it's a generation thing or just sheep following sheep?
People no longer research anything. Look at the virus threads for some awesome examples of ignorance. Nice to read a civil bb thread for a change. |

I think people are now preferring ‘safe’ sex; that is sex not just in separate rooms but separate houses!

One can't say that ,we okay bare only with similar people but otherwise safe.
There's still an element of risk.

Yes, we've only had one incident where couple who's profile states safe sex, but when come down to it have always barebacked our fault apparently for not making it clear condoms we're compulsory - we'll glad found out in time  |

I wouldn't say it's the norm no, and from what we've seen in the club rules all enforce or advise condoms.
That said, we prefer bareback due to us having a massive creampie and sloppy seconds kink, and we've only had 1 person refuse wanting to meet, and maybe 2 or 3 say they'd prefer to play safe. That's out of single guys and couples. We do make it clear on the profile that bareback is preferred (but condoms are still welcome!), so this might deter some from messaging, but we've still had 100s of messages from men and couples happy going bareback, or wanting to.
So I still agree with most people here it not the norm, but on meets it's still extremely common and far from unusual. |

Whilst clubs will recommend condom use we have never yet had any staff interrupt bareback play. Having spoken to various club owners they have ALL confirmed to us that it is entirely our own choice.
As for singles and other couples our impression is that bareback is still a minority choice. But not by much.
Funnily we have seen some appallingly intolerant and abusive messages posted directed at barebackers. The reason it is so funny is that on more than a few occasions these exact same people have quietly approached us agreeing to bareback play.

Let's face it, everyone on here is taking risks. Having any sex is a risk. It's just a case of the level or risk you, your partner, and your playmates are willing to accept.
You could be the most careful person on here, tested, vaccinated, prep, birth control, condoms, etc. And still pick up a STD from oral (or even kissing), and end up pregnant/getting her pregnant with a broken condom or failed contraception. This is extremely unlikely with the mitigations above but basically everyone on here is at least taking these risks.
After that it's back to not being naive with yourself or others about risk level, and being honest and transparent about it with any sexual partner. Some draw the line at oral, some vaginal, some anal, some group play, I'm sure that someone on here is happy to stick their arse out a car window and have 100 strangers cum in it. All are valid limits and opinions, we're free adults here, to decide that we personally wish to do (or not do), and shouldn't flame others for a difference in opinion!
The bareback police on here do annoy us, but they're 100% correct about the need for honesty on profiles and when arranging meets. It isn't fair to lie to people about the risks they're taking, or be a hypocrite if you bareback secretly. If you at least abide to that rule then good luck to you and have fun doing what you enjoy. No one is forcing anyone to fuck people they don't want to, or not put a condom on if they wish to!

For those that maybe have 2 or 3 encounters a year perhaps bareback is an option.. as we are all adults..

There's a huge amount of anecdotal information here, most of it selected via the entirely worrying lens of confirmation bias.

I wonder if the OP has formed this opinion due to the number of threads that are raised on the subject - after all, threads are rarely started on the joys of safe sex.
To put things into context, forum users account for a small percentage of the user base.
I've seen a few threads opened on the subject of bareback but not all who post on it argue in favour. Many highlight the risks and so, on balance, I'd say that it's not nearly as widespread as OP may think.
Often these threads are eye openers to many, who keep their comments to themselves but make a note of those who confess to enjoying bareback sex with others and exercise that block button |

Mind you, bare back is never an option for any of my meets or up for discussion. I've a latex allergy so always have plenty of latex free condoms (reg and Xl) to hand. I always make a point of popping them on the side of the bed so my play partner knows they're there.
I've found that guys I've met away from Fab have tried to push bare back sex or seemed surprised that I'm prepared with condoms.
Hard to say it's the norm though. Most guys I know on the scene take care of their sexual health |

I don't blame you. A lot of guys I meet do have condoms with them (latex though). Never an excuse not to in my regular club as there are bloody bowls full of them all over the place.
Ultimately only I'm responsible for my sexual health. And I don't expect meets to be aware that I have a latex allergy so I just always have my own on me (free from the GUM clinic or at some clubs, otherwise cheap enough). I just like to have them to hand so I can make a point of popping them on the bed or to the side. Let's them know exactly where they are and that I expect them to be used. |

certainly not the norm, we have held parties in our house and condoms are piled in every room and always used , and if anyone tried to bb whilst at our parties they would be swiftly shown the door
we do however understand that some people have preferences and if you have played with the same person along time then things may and do change , but for us condom all the way |

i wonder what the % of world condoms sales per person is to sexual active people vrs the % of std ?

This site is full of guys that are total hypocrites! Pretending are they holier than thou and super careful for the ladies on here that will only have safe sex.
But the amount of guys that contact me saying they love bareback and would love to meet, and I look at their profile and it say only play covered and I'm a good clean guy that takes him mum to church on Sundays. Wake up covered ladies some of you are being taken for a ride! Literally.  |

Frankly, I don't care so much about their health. I care about mine. I do not want a baby/gonorrhea/syphilis/AIDS/genital warts nor any other urogenital infection anyone else has and thought it had gone away or they didn't think it was worth mentioning.

I really don't agree with all these testing things as the incubation period is more than three months. Plus what if that regular person have sex with someone outside for a change.

One day when all STI's including HIV have a 100% effective vaccine or treatment then we'll no longer have these discussions (actually maybe not lol) but would that take some of the fun out? As humans, some of us like risk. The thrill is in the risk.

Some of the comments made here are very ignorant, I'm not going to get into an exhausting debate about it, but some of comments made here claiming what is and isn't safe, even some of the points made here about ways of contraction, just honestly illustrate that a lot of you don't take your sexual health as seriously as you make out.
Nobody making these ill informed comments like some of the ones above goes for frequent sexual health checks, you should be going every 3 months if you're active, no later than 6 if you're not. Unless you're not engaging in sex/or have the same sexual partner.
I'd suggest taking to youtube, or looking at local statistics providing from your local clinics.
Most of you could deffo do with researching more about PrEP and hiv/aids, or ask your dr about it. |

The only issue with prep h, is that it doesn't stop everything.
You can still get HPV, some types can lead to cancer.

You do not need to have penetrative sex.
You can get HPV from:
any skin-to-skin contact of the genital areavaginal, anal or oral sexsharing sex toys
HPV has no symptoms, so you may not know if you have it.
It's very common. Most people will get some type of HPV in their life. |
