"Not for me. Certain things can’t be tested for "
I keep seeing people say this, and I ask what things and noone ever says.
Surely if it exists as a disease it can be tested for? Or do you just mean it isn't covered in a "standard test" so to speak? |

Ok there is not a test for herpes, there is not a test for males to see if they have hpv which is dangerous to women and undetectable in men. |

HPV is showing now to be harmful to males too. Not as harmful but still an increased risk of cancer!
For us its not what cant be detected its when its detectable.
HIV and Hepatitis C are not detectable until after incubation where you are most contagious, this can sometimes take 12weeks after exposure.
If you are considering it you can get the Hep C vaccine and take PReP via NHS. Or use a condom.
But if you trust the person and you have birth control in place who are we to judge.
Just know the facts. Most things you can catch orally can be treated with a 10 day course. Others you can catch though are with you for life and the ones you get via blood transfer will kill you. |

"I'm tempted to go bare with a special fabber, how many of you go bare with no problems"
I have trusted, regular friends I’ve played bare with for many years, and never had any issues.
New Fab meets/randoms I always rubber up for penetration, anyone who wants to progress to playing ‘au naturelle’ it’s mutual full screen results time |

What about the things you can’t screen for? Do you just take a chance on those? |

All infections have an undetectable incubation period. They don’t call it safe sex any more, its safer sex, in case you hadn’t noticed. Most people will suck cock without a condom so you can get an oral infection even if you use condoms for penetration.
Ultimately it’s just a sliding scale of risk and you have to decide where you’re going to sit. |

"Yes, I play bareback. Don’t know if I’ve just been lucky, but it’s been okay."
Luck is a big factor with STDs. Even if you have sex with an infected person, there is still not a 100% chance you'll catch something. But why risk it? 5 minute of pleasure not worth. |

I’m seeking bare. I take all the precautions, test correctly, and even test when not active too. All that said, play for me has been very restrictive over the last 12 months, unsure if this is because not many these days do actually play bare with others, or people prefer younger. I had a break and came back, bare back then was more often discussed when playing. |

It's something only you can decide. A few times in my life had new friend that wanted go bare but worried to . Simple answer both get tested first. It's then matter of trust if going bare else where. |

Had a very interesting chat with a doctor at a London clinic last weekend while sorting out HPV, M-Pox and Hep vaccinations. I was asking about Doxi-Pep which many take to deal with the sorts of nasties you can get from oral etc (Prep deals with the HIV aspect). He pointed out quite logically that the most important thing to do is to test regularly (every 3 months) and then deal with an infection with antibiotics if it appears, rather than continually take Doxi-Pep which is an anti-biotic.
In any respect, we are religious testers even though we don't play bare (to cover off oral or condom failures) and we stagger our testing so essentially we are testing every 6 weeks (as we play bare with each other so if one gets something, so too will the other). This is apparently a really smart way of doing things and I would recommend any couples to do the same.

Prep isn’t anywhere close to 100%, bareback is great, but it’s absolutely not worth the risk abd I don’t meet people who do or meet people who do in their profile text or veris, if I see someone local or in area I played in (I don’t travel much now) if they might be someone I’d consider meeting, the right age, looks etc, I’d either block or write a profile note if I saw them say something about doing bb on the forums or a status |

" we normally stagger our testing but after being contacted not so long ago by someone who had tested positive.. we are now back in sync for a bit... ( we both after the longest wait in the world tested negative)
However it is worth noting that unfortunately the one is all clear the other one will be too isn't strictly true.
Someone we know well... he tested positive.. and they only have bare with each other.. she never caught anything
But it is still a good way . ( I'm back to monthly tests currently anyway as we have done some greedy girl events ) even with condoms its not 100% |

"I'm immunised up the yah yah's…
Don’t they just stick the needle in your arm anymore?😬"
Blood tests will be included for some diseases and conditions, which may be done via home testing kits or inside the clinic. Other tests won't rely on blood. |

I get a reaction.. so take antihistamine and use latex free.. found the lube in some can set me off too
Plenty of options if someone has a reaction to condoms |

It seems to me that bareback is getting much more common. Years ago when HIV was a killer, no-one did it apart from bug chasers. Now it’s frequent. Some time ago I went to the sauna for some fun, and as an experiment didn’t bring up the subject of condoms to see people’s reaction. Over half the men I played with didn’t even think about using one. Of course it’s more likely to transmit from top to bottom than the other way, but the overall impression I got was that lots of men simply don’t think about their health. |

That’s a good point well made! I took a chance on Club Play and that was a mistake May have a rethink on safe play….. |

"Always bare
Long as you both happy it’s always better
Obviously if it no for her then no much you can do , find most birds prefer it too , it’s no really sex otherwise " if course it's real sex if a condom is used.
We have found most prefer without but like us will use condoms with people other than their partners.
We don't mind if people want to play bare..we just won't |

Fantasy wise - I get off in another guy cummin in my wife - but the reality is …no - it’s just not safe in my opinion - I’m not a doctor so no facts - just how I feel.
Whenever I play - always safe - simply not worth the risk for me. |

So many people say they’ve never had a problem. What they mean is that they’ve never had a problem that they know about. Many infections are asymptomatic. I’ve had a couple of issues in the past that didn’t have any symptoms and were only found on testing. It’s estimated that there are around 10,000 people in the UK with undiagnosed HIV. |

Not everyone can get prep. I've been told that as I am to responsible for my sexual health.. I can no longer have it.
Seems backwards to me. I'd like to think that using prep and condoms would be encouraged but it seems not |

PrEP is very much near to 100% effective.
At least similar to using a condom for HIV protection.
Please do some proper research. |

There is evidence that it also provides some protection against hepatitis too, which is helpful as you can only be vaccinated against certain variants. Prep + doxy is the closest we have to full protection for bareback. Plus vasectomy of course. |

Yep. Go for it (just get on PrEp and test regularly).
As no one seems to like condoms and dams for oral, it doesn’t make much sense to just wear condoms for sex. Might as well guard against HIV with PrEp and keep testing, while crossing your fingers about everything else (cos that’s what 90-odd per cent of people on here are doing, whether they realise it or not). |

If a person is wearing condoms (plus dams) for oral and penetrative sex, they’re running at a very low risk, which is great.
But….people tend not to use condoms &/or dams for oral, running the risk of a number of STIs.
In that case, if you’re already exposing yourself to the risk of an STI orally, it’s hard to see why there is the insistence on condoms for anything else. PrEp will protect against HIV, & regular testing will show up various other infections.
In that case, PrEP and testing is a good management of risk in a culture that doesn’t care for using protection for oral sex. |

We don't use condoms or dams for oral... but would not do bare sex. Its worked well for me for over 30 years of swinging.
The insistence on using condoms for full sex is because you are much more likely to catch something having bare sex compared to bare oral.. and you have almost no chance of catching hiv through oral.
We are aware of what could possible be caught by oral but as its a a significantly lower risk.. this is why we are prepared . We get regular testing. When I'm doing gg events like currently, testing will be every 4 to 6 weeks.

Cool
After 25 years or so of active sex, I’ve had three oral infections from unprotected oral sex. Chlamydia twice and gonorrhoea once. All successfully treated. That’s not bad for a quarter of a century of being active in sexual situations. Testing has helped enormously for peace of mind, as I’m sure it does for many. Yeah, not everyone can go onto PrEP but, wow, it’s another great way to feel like one is managing one’s risk. |

This is one of the problems, there is no consistency in the NHS approach and I suspect it depends on how much money they have in the kitty, because prep costs about £60 a bottle. They prescribe me prep even though I use condoms most of the time too. I suspect I get it because I’m considered high risk as I have many partners, go to saunas, etc. |

Yes, that sure sounds fairly active to me. I told them that in groups I’m sometimes not in control of whether a condom is used or not, maybe that would influence them. |
