Hi, I'm of the generation before 'manscaping' existed. I now trim 'downstairs' which is in itself a revelation to me!

I see that a lot of ladies request that males are shaven below. I don't want to take a razor down there. I'm unsure about using a hair removal product as I have naturally hairy legs and tummy and no experience or knowledge of using such a product.

I just don't want to end up with my meat and two veg looking like they've been denuded of all hair in some sort of small scale localised nuclear blast!

Take the piss if you must, but would also appreciate some sensible comments.

Cheers!

I’m with you op. Significant trim is good but a downstairs shave makes me look like a full cock and balls transplant patient. Shaved balls I love, but the pubes get no more than a neat number 1. Functionally I get that the nudocock look may be nicer to work with but honestly, on a hairy boy it looks (in my opinion only),a bit ridiculous

I'm fairly hairy so had the same concerns, but I think what I do works and I've not had any complaints.

I start to trim down the hair from a few inches above my cock, so it is graded down towards my cock where it's about a 1 on the clippers.

I then clipper my balls too very carefully, whilst pulling the skin taught and arse crack too (Some people hate using the clippers on balls, but I don't know how else to get them trimmed).

Then I thin out the area between my balls and inner thigh a little.

After all that, I grab a razor and remove all the hair from my cock (which definitely makes it look bigger).

As for my chest, I trim that down to about a 4 or 6, and trim my pits down too.

My back is the tricky one, and all I can really do on that is shave it all off. I have to get someone to help with that though.

As I'm hairy, I also have a little hair on my bum cheeks. It's not bad, but would look odd if it were all gone, so again that gets graded in from my back so there isn't a sudden line.

Not sure if that is any help.

It would be good to hear others methods too.

I just trim down for me as it makes me feel more confident, and I think that comes across to others and has a bigger effect on whether they find me attractive or not.

As per cockasaurus - it’s all about the grading. Think of an upside down skin fade (google if don’t know what a skin fade is) Being folicley challenged - as is often the case makes me hirsute everywhere else so grooming is essential so as not to look like something more akin to a wild animal. I’ve become fairly adept with the trimmers over the years due to sometimes having a full beard, sometimes stubble etc as is the thing these days for us baldies. I go No 2 on chest but grade into pubic area and around the torso with a 1. Same on thighs working up from the knee. My wife will bare blade 0 my back and shoulders. If you don’t have a wife/friend to do your back you need to get stretching them shoulders to reach but it is possible, I know from when I was single. I then soap up in the shower, exfoliate and use Venus lady razors and shave bum, crack, cock and balls, don’t fear it, just shave away-never had a nick or a cut, and I leave a square of neatly trimmed pubes. Then cocoa butter all over when dry and voila! It’s time consuming and needs to be done bi weekly to maintain, but I think is essential and with or without sexy fun, feels so much cleaner! Hope that helps, happy grooming

I use a beard trimmer, you can set it to any length of cut from neatly trimmed to completely bare

I trim my pubes but shave my balls,

I like the feel of them when I am playing

Always run moisturiser on them after shaving to prevent shaving rash though

Be yourself op!

I have shaved cock and balls, which is as far as I would go. If it's not liked then so be it.

Do it for yourself rather than what you think others would prefer.

I've always groomed as I can't stand hair down there. I use a trimmer which gets quite close anyway. Alternatively, a bluntish safety razor also leaves the area fairly smooth. Depending on your skin type, I would recommend avoiding hair removal creams on sensitive areas!

For my back I just do a reach around. Not 100% but better than nothing!

For any men struggling to reach their backs, you can buy shavers online specifically for this. There’s various makes but they look like a long handle with a razor attached.

Not sure how effective they are but the reviews suggest they are

I was going to get one, but then read some reviews of them slicing into people's backs. Put me off quite a bit tbh.

Would be good to hear if anyone here has used one.

You can use a trimmer rather than a razor. You know like a beard trimmer or something that's not going onto your skin - you would need to buy one only for your private hair as I don't recommend using a trimmer that you've used on your pubic region on your face.

I personally don't mind if a guy isn't shaven. Although it can be really off putting if someone has really long hairs. Giving a blow job with hairs sticking into your nose and face is not the most attractive thing. I personally won't meet guys who are super hairy on their body. That's just my preference and I've had some bad experiences with body hair in the past. Nothing major but when I was 18 I was fucking this security guard at his house. It was absolutely boiling and he got really sweaty. He was very furry and he laid on my face and all his sweat and hair stuck to me and it was just the most horrible experience I've ever had. I also don't like mega hairy guys (sorry and no offence intended)! So that could be an option.

But my real advice is if you don't want to shave then don't. I would not expect a guy to make requests from me and I don't make requests from guys. It's your body and its your choice and don't change your preferences just to have sex. That's just ridiculous

Not so good then. Although to be fair anywhere you use a razor is at risk. I have the scars!

This! Nothing worse than the egg in the nest look! I'm shocked so many guys think this looks good, it doesn't. I personally can't stand fully shaved cocks even on smooth guys, it looks so unnatural and a bit creepy, I like men NOT young boys! Shaved balls and sides of shaft with a neat trim of the upper area is more than ample (no landing strip type effects though!) but I'm also fine with a full bush and would much prefer that to a completely bald dick if I'm honest.

Fully shaved for me. Tried using beard trimmers but inevitably end up nicking something, whereas with a razor I'm fine.

Back shaving - I have a BakBlade 2. It's really good, there's a hinge in the middle of the arm so you can adjust the angle from straight to curved to ensure you get a good contact. Replaceable blades and east to clean.

Never cut myself with it, though pressing too hard does leave my skin a little sore sometimes. Can do it all alone, have found a way where I set a camera up behind me and have my laptop open in front so I can see what I'm doing, helps loads!

Yeah, that's a tricky one. I've certainly refernced mr tumnus before. I'll always keep proper chest hair, which I think / hope is the killer difference. Wispy back crap can surely so one though.

I am not a fan of a very hairy guy who keeps his body hair yet shaves only his pubic region.

This gives way to what I call "pube halos" where the men don't know what to shave and how far to take it.

Leaving semi circular designs before their tummy hair begins.

Just... just ... please don't!

If you have a set of clippers go for the fade, and gradually trim closer as you go lower, this looks far better and natural.

Exactly this! This is such an unappealing look when a smooth patch in semi circles, squares or just odd shapes is left. Take a bit of time and learn to 'blend' it in so it creates a more natural look. That's why I think men who are very naturally hairy that have a full stomach of hair and not that thin trail look better when they just trim rather that go for that completely smooth look. Guys that have minimal stomach hair n trails can get away with it all smooth because it looks more natural and leaves none of these smooth patches in odd shapes.

But equally appreciate what each person likes doing to their own body hair. It just looks completely unnatural to me when this smooth patch appears amongst all this body hair.

Use a trimmer if you don't want to get rid of it all down to the skin, or get waxed if you do.

Consider the area you want to cover (or uncover). When I get waxed, I personally get my tummy done, my back, my crack and my edding tackle, but I leave a bit above but trimmed short. It looks tidy but gives a bit of definition and stops me looking like I never went through puberty.

Waxing hurts for a moment but I really like the results. It's worth considering.

Getting a mouth full of wiry hair to floss your teeth with isn't great. Gagging and hocking one up that's tickling the back of your throat is unattractive. I like to go foraging in a well kept garden instead of hacking through a thick forest. It doesn't need to be completely cleared and a nice border can really help to show off your blooms. I often need to get the lumberjack in to clear the thicket around my own wood, then I use veet for the slash and burn to create a smooth surface anyone should be happy to dine on. I have never tried a Manscrape as it is easy enough to nick ones face and I would hate to do that to my pride and joy. The napalm does burn a bit, but I am used to it now. It takes just four minutes just before you jump under the fireman's hose to douse those flames.

Some insist on fully shaved, but yea, there are quite a few of us who despise the bald chicken look.

That also applies to overall body hair, by the way.

Never shave (or not) simply for one person (or a few). Do what you feel works for you--there are those for and against, you can never please everyone, so just please yourself.

(Better to find a hair or two in the mouth than be with someone looking like a kid, in my opinion).

Hi all,

thank you for your positive comments and for sharing your tips.

Based on your responses and experience I'm going to continue to have a close trim but won't be shaving or using removal creams.

For me this is the right balance between making things more appealing and pleasant for the 'end user' and being comfortable and confident in my abilities to not do any damage.

Thanks once again for your advice and input.

This is an interesting post .....

I took a dislike to being hairy long before I started on the swinging/sex meeting journey with my first wife some 15 year or more ago - so its nothing new

It is a personal thing and whilst hygiene is still key to an enjoyable meeting, I have no objections to either sex being hairy

But for me , shaved and smooth whenever possible ticks my box

J xx

Just putting it out there.

It's your body, do as *you* like

If I met someone I liked and they didn't trim, I like it or lump it.

If they wish to trim it for me, that's cool but I wouldn't expect it.

This works both ways too
