This is the place where ladies and gents can ask for ideas for clothing, masks etc, and for others to help.

For example, last year i went to TKMaxx TJHughes and the West End for frocks. Catherines of Partick and Q Fashions are good.

Masks, i would go to Osiris and Tam Shepherds Joke Shop.

I was thinking of going for the James Bond look** but I reckon that a kilt may get more of a response.

** The "James Bond in a Tux in a casino" look not the "James Bond naked with his backside stuffed through the seat of a chair and getting his testicles whipped by a rope" look. Although I suspect some of the ladies would like this better than a kilt.

You can hire a suit from slaters but for about £100 you can pick up an ok suit to buy in slaters, burtons, debenhams maybe? Depends what your budget is tbh.... And also how formal you intend to go? Are we talking eccentric or black tie?

actually thinking about it, I could get away with Shirt, Waistcoat, Formal trousers, nice shoes... all black. I could get away with that as formal wear, right? Oh... Can we wear hats with the masks? Some very nice Venetian masks go very well with a black tricorn with white fur trim.

I would say that passes as formal and if I am right I can't see anyone having an issue with you wearing a hat. Hats for me are acceptable

Yes. Google masquerade ball dresses. Last year there were long gowns, cocktail dresses, big ball gowns. Its like your fanciest, most posh frock multiplied by 100.

Google masquerade masks.... Comes up with loads of sites.... Lots of options for men from Antonio banderas style to Venetian to modern twist masks.... Just don't get one with a nose as it means its impossible to drink a pint lol.... As some of the blokes last year will tell u....

I was going for my black corset and skirt as tk mentioned earlier, but all this talk of dresses!

I have a Jane Norman full length green Aaron like dress with black bead pattern that I picked up for.net year a couple of years ago which I will have to see if I can still fit in, it require a full body sick thing that I can't find

I had forgotten about shoes ! My feet are fussy, so I normally buy plain black2.5" geek dancing shoes from dance direct.

May look for another dress, but usually means bravissimo to be able to fit my shape of 12 super curvey. I had given trying to find dresses that fitted before them.

To got me an ace feather mask on a stick, since wearing glasses gets in the way.
