Aberdeen social 1st October T.B.C

Hi following recent successful socials throughout Scotland I thought I'd attempt to arrange for for us further north!

At the moment I have pencilled in Saturday 1st October. If we have enough interest I will book a private room with a dj and buffet etc. Otherwise it'll be a reserved area in a bar.

This will be a non playing social,however what happens after is up to you!

Let's try and get some fun in dull Aberdeen!!

Sorry I have been a bit quiet, real life has been chaotic.

I have called and confirmed the venue tonight, it is a private area in city centre bar.

Would people like to have a buffet? As it stands I don't require a deposit for a space, but if I ask for them to provide food I will need to take payment (£10 p/p)

It is normally just a gathering in a normal pub, a chance to get to meet and greet people, nothing more, so nothing to be nervous about

I would love to join in but I see someone already mentioned being outwith the organiser's age range. I wouldn't want to turn up to a venue and have all the "younger" folks thinking "OMG what's grandad doing here"? Or am I just being ageist?

hi me and my female partner are going to be staying at the Altens hotel next Saturday and Sunday as it is her birthday on the Sunday was looking for a couple to chat her up and see what happens she will be in her sixties but looks really good she has been off sex for ten years now and I would love it if someone could get her interested again

Just as V has said! The age limits on my profile are an indication of my own preferences for playing, age is inconsequential for social meets.

Ok guys I've had ano idea for a wee ice breaker game and at the same time raise some money for charity...thinking of doing a steal raffle?

I will organise a bundle of prizes, some novelty,some play, wrapped and unwrapped and selling strips of raffle tickets for £5.

Instead of calling numbers for the amount of prizes available, all tickets are called and winners must steal from others until there are no tickets left!

In my caffeine deprived state I've maybe not described it very well but what do attendees think of arranging a wee game like this?

. It does say in the OP that this is a non playing social event. Also says several times in the thread that it will be in a central pub so unless you wish to get arrested I would wear clothes

So I've sorted some prizes for a steal raffle, mix of novelty and naughty items.

If anyone would like to donate any raffle prizes it would be appreciated but a obviously not expected. This is just a fun game to break the ice and hopefully raise a penny for charity xx

Raffle goodies have arrived, if everyone doesn't mind, any pennies made from the Raffle will go to Little Princess Trust who make and supply wigs for children who have lost their hair, often through cancer treatment.

They're more than welcome to do that. I just thought a fun raffle could be a way to break the ice and get people chatting during the social, with any money raised from those that want to do it being a positive bi-product.

I'll of course be more than happy to send proof of the donation to anyone who has donated and would like to see. There is a just giving page already in use for the charity as I've raised over £800 to date through other events (most recently my 2 children both donating 12" of their hair towards the actual wigs,and being sponsored to do so)
