Naked Baking!

Edinburgh

So its day off Tuesday for me and I fully intend to make up for the lack of going out last night with a little naked baking!

Today it will be Muffins and a couple of artisan bread loafs...

I have to say baking is a therapeutic experience for me all done by hand the way my Grandma taught me. Nothing beats a good muffing, sorry Muffin! Mind like a welsh railway I have, dirty and one tracked!

So forum fodder, do any of you lovely people bake and what is your speciality?

I would love to hear what you can place into your ovens as I always look for inspiration for new and interesting flour based yummies to munch on!

We do have a master baker but she is offline at the moment as she finally returns to these shores from Germany.

She claims to make a mean lemon drizzle cake but I'm STILL waiting for mine!!

Nothing wrong with a bread maker... Not cheating if you make your bread regularly... My day to day loaves are done in a machine and they are just fine!

Speciality bread though done by hand...

Due to a cluster of work birthdays/gruelling overtime sessions there have been a lot of cakes and treats on the go: lemon drizzle; chocolate mud; ginger and lemon; lemon poppyseed; red velvet, peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, boozy oreos; speculaas, brownies, cinnamon bagels...

Its a wonder my colleagues aren't the size of houses!

I do love a savory muffin.. Cheese and bacon or spinch and pine nut are winners... Lovely.

My stepmother taught me to make focaccia when she first got together with my dad.. I dont make it nearly enough...

Muffins and bread all done... Half the muffins gone already as the kids love them... Had to hide the rest!

Breads, scones, lemon drizzle cake, banana loaf. That's about my limit.

I tried it once. Never again. Using your willy for a rolling pin is not recommended.
