"I'm going for 4!
I thought 4 too till I remembered there is no middle in even numbers "
correct...the question should have been with 2 ducks and not 3 ducks |

but going with the original question then the answer would be 5 |

"7 as the one in the middle has three behind it would that not mean there 3 in front of giving you 6 and the middle duck added =7 duck "
the question is not specific to 1 duck....it states in front of "a" duck |

So the answer is any odd number over 5 which is the lowest amount of ducks there can be, the greatest being infinity |

"There are 3 ducks infront of a duck,
3 behind and 1 in the middle.
How many ducks are there altogether?
work ur brains people
xxxxxxxxx"
There are four ducks D D D D
D D D (Three in front of the duck) D
D (Three behind the duck) D D D
The one in the middle would have made it five, however I have caught plucked and roasted as the addition of another duck would have made it four in front and four behind and the equation would not have balanced in my brain and my laptop may have ended up being thrown out of the window.
So the radical in this problem is whether to use plum sauce or not on the roasted fowl!
