Folks,

I'm curious....if someone (male or female) describes their body type as Athletic.....what are you expecting to see?

Definitions of body type I think are a dangerous thing to set…. If only there was a way to visually display a body type on here 😝

Fab definitions or real world definitions ?? Lol

Athletic means slim and fit, no spare tyres etc ..

The definitions that are more abused in here are 'curvy' 'ample' and 'fabulous' basically in the absence of any pictures to convey reality, all 3 on here in the real world mean big huge overweight or fat..

Id expect fit defined muscles with weight to their figure which can show in my eyes stamina endurance and not just skinny pencil thin and bones that most call athletic on here.

This is the point I make… I think putting body types down as a criteria is ludicrous as one person’s interpretation can be offensive or just misinterpreted! I know athletic people who strictly speaking are overweight on a bmi basis, I’ve seen curvy used for everything from a petite person with curvy hips to a larger women…

I don’t like that this option exists. The majority of people have a picture to show what they looks like, I’d be very surprised if anyone was going into a meet blind….

It’s the only subjective category on there.

Athletic body type to me is someone with a toned physique but a lot of skinny unfit guys classify themselves as athletic - I think a female saying she is is more of a safe bet that she actually is.

You are absolutely right. I missed that response.... also disgusting and no need for body shaming there either.

I spend every spare minute in the gym or up hillsa, but I’m definitely not athletic, fit maybe?

From a size 14, curvy gal who loves food too much!

I'd say you and I fall into the athletic category but fab has it's own variations.

Wants to be athletic or used to be athletic should be an option too

Absolutely this.

I go to the gym 3 or 4 days a week. I'm not muscular and I carry a little bit muffin top. I love my food too

Although a thread on athletic bodies. It does seem to have become a fat shaming thread. The beauty of fab.
