Summer sports day and picnic/BBQ
Jump to: Newest in thread
So I know this is something that was done as a social a number of years ago and was wondering if anyone would be interested in me organising something ?
Park/campsite or beach somewhere organise some good healthy competitive games/races and have a picnic/BBQ
Say something like 12-6 on a Saturday or Sunday
Folks maybe want to camp out and make a night of it
THOUGHTS !!?? |

"Sounds a good idea, apart from the races bit lol. Those days are long gone.
I was thinking the same
We can watch and have first aid boxes at ready for all the injuries."
But that might entail us having to run to said injurys |

I think I'd be OK with you bringing over the 'magic sponge' with a catwalk swagger |

"Sounds like a good day out if we could drive or play sports of any kind "
Egg and spoon, three legged race, wheel barrow race etc I’m talking school sports day more of a giggle than anything super competitive |

Yup. The one several years ago was my first Fab social. Organised by Falcon. Glasgow Green. It was a hoot. I’d certainly go to another one but this time glued egg and spoon should be disqualified! |

Hmm klutz utd here might be best off staying away from competing but it sounds like could be a fun summer outing, I’d be happy to be a judge/referee ( I know how competitive some of you can be ) take incriminating photo and video to laugh at later |

So I’m thinking the census is defo a yes for this then
So the next question is what do folk think would be an appropriate contribution to cover either picnic/ BBQ ??
or do it as a bring your own or have a list of things to bring and get folk to commit to it ??
Does anyone have access to hula hoops, sacks, beanbags etc ?

I would recommend that it’s a bring your own picnic. That way you won’t stress about food for a large group and then be left to set it up and tidy it all away afterward.
I’m presuming this will all be outside. |

I think byo best as can be a real headache accounting for dietary requirements, allergies, medical needs and personal preferences. Plus as has been said that way you won’t get the blame for any dodgy food/tummies. |

I’m in but probably not taking part depending on when it is. It was a good laugh the last time.
Keep it simple. Be flexible with games/ abilities and weather.
There should be forfeits for anyone cheating. |
