Why does Fab allow so many fake profiles

I honestly think I might be naive, because I can't think of any glaringly obvious fake profiles. Am I likely to be talking to many of them?
I've saw people mention fake profiles before and, honestly, I've no clue what to look out for xx |

We feel there’s far too many fakes out in the world of Fab but as a site they could be doing more to find these fakes out

I agree there’s lots of fake profile.
I think the only way fab could change this is to limit users to 1 IP address but I think this would be too costly for them.
There’s an idea of every user showing a passport or driving license but again, I think it would be to costly for the site.
Plus… it’s bad enough getting a reply from the admin never mind shifting through thousands of people id’s |

You can tell by the way they chat, I think especially I feel like I can tell a man pretending to be a female. What I was wondering is can you still get photo verified on a fake profile? |

They could use this to update the site
True but if they set up algorithms to allow it to be done I’m sure they’d no longer need site supporters
It seems Fab is out dated slightly and needs to allow for knee ideas to come through to stop this happening |

How does fab know they are fake until things are pointed out to them ?
Some are easy to spot others arnt
It’s the ones who belong to other members that are being used to get around blocks,forums & many other things they get used for that are the annoying ones .
Just report & block any you suspect are fake   |

We get loads of female profiles contacting us but as soon as you ask for a face pic or to meet they disappear |

But how you define a fake profile and what criteria does is have to meet?
I know someone suggested passport and licence details, but this would kill the site. I certainly don't want details like that stored on the site. |

Yeah, we’ve just tended to report and block any suspected fake profiles…they aren’t always easy to spot, and you just have to be a bit careful I guess

There's been a few profiles lately with very obviously fake pictures. Easy to reverse image search them on Google or Yandex. I've reported them to fab but they don't seem to care. |

Yeah, that's a bug bear of mine, to be fair. I know they say if something isn't broke, don't fix it, but when we're all paying a subscription, well I expect most of us will be paying it, then surely there's scope for investment to modernise it?xx |

Think it's always had fake profiles but just now it seems to be getting worse.
Folk popping back up time and time again after getting bans so just rejoin under a new name or sex.
You can usually spot them tho with tell tale signs.
All you can do is block n report as fab won't do anything about the.

This is the problem indeed fake profiles using fake pics and as you do the reverse image it’s from some photo shoot etc

There are loads of fakes on here, they normally sign up in the early hours, mainly young bisexual females who want to talk absolute filth until you suggest swapping numbers, then they vanish.
I'm not too IT savvy but I'm certain Fab can do something about it. |

You can't have an app that shows graphic content so fab would have to ban anything that wasn't vanilla.
Not sure if that would work tbh.
I do agree with you on how many fake profiles are here, maybe fab could pay staff to be photo moderators and hold people accountable for the amount of stolen insta/twitter/OF pictures that keep cropping up.

They don't check cause you don't get long to check each photo that comes through that being said I've had photos sent to me of famous and semi famous people it's laughable  |

fake profiles are destroying this site they should really do something about it, sadly what i've notice is the owner of this site just think about money they don't care about real users who spend money supporting the site
No personal support on this site, i've reported a lot of fake profiles but no action taken, all these bots/fake profiles on here are really really frustration
i won't suggest them to keep it on this way because in the near future people will move to another and better swinging sites or apps |

I’d happily pay a “proper” monthly membership fee for a members’ area…I feel that there would be more chance of genuine people there because serious people would be happy to pay a small fee, I reckon. Am sure J will agree with me. The gold and silver membership is just a token thing, and doesn’t really prove much I don’t think

An app version of fab would be a very different experience because to comply with app store rules the content couldn't be the same. Imagine fab without the pictures?
Fab isn't perfect but subscription prices are very low compared to the alternatives and most fake profiles are easy to spot. |
