Good festival fringe show to go this year?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Hello guys
Edinburgh is overcrowded this year, I think more than ever after the pandemic. If you have been in any show so far please, let us know your opinion on which one you recommend?
Have fun I am a very sexy August !

Saw 'Plan V: the joyful cult of pussy worship' tonight great show and the mainly female audience loved it!
V sex positive. 2115 at The Space Triplex Studio on Hill Place
Not embarrasing for the guys there either!
There is a whole lot of LGBT stuff as well. all in the Fringe programme. |

Totally non fab related in any way, but a friend's kids are performing in The Adams Family at Captivate at the Rose theatre. I think they're also doing Sunshine on Leith.
Captivate always seems to get great reviews at the Fringe. Don't think I'm going to manage to see any Fringe shows this year unfortunately |

Confession time - I’ve never been but I would love to go but have no idea how it all works. Could I get train up from glasgow and find shows worth seeing relatively cheaply?
I’m a lit grad, choir singer and fan of all things arthouse style but must confess lean more towards sarcasm, observational and feminist tendencies.
Anyone willing to educate me and point me in right direction? When’s it on until? |

Just go and wander the streets are there is always someone performing. You can go to the box office or the half price hut and see what you can get or go into to the pubs with Free Fringe shows on, I've seen some great acts on the FF, you just put money in their bucket on the way out. |

I got the bus through last week with the wee yin and there were loads of folk promoting shows along the Royal Mile. The more popular and biggest acts will obviously sell out fast so best to book online but there still appeared to be plenty that you could just rock up to on the day.

"Maybe I’ll just pop along this weekend. See what occurs - that said I’ve a tendency to get lost even in glasgow so it could be tempting fate "
There was a lovely atmosphere last week. Think folk are really embracing it after Covid and the lovely weather defo helped. |

Yea I can believe that.
I’m from a military family and going on an adventure - just heading out and seeing where you end up was definitely embraced |

You'll have a ball. So much happening over there. Suggest you take plenty time. There's plenty of areas and plenty of venues. Pleasance is quite nice, food, drinks. Multiple venues there too so you can browse whats on without too much hassle. Great atmosphere. Loads of street performances too so it's nice to just wander and "get lost" in the spectacle. |

SO many good things to go and see!!! La Clique is my favourite though - best described as a burlesque circus, it’s super sexy and well worth checking out! And just sitting in Bisto square having a drink and soaking up the atmosphere is fun too. Trawl the Mound/Royal Mile during the day for tons of free street performances too! Enjoy! |

Gotta 100000% agree with la clique
Also brief bite club both shows are right after each other. At underbelly circus hub in the meadows

Couple of years back saw ‘Men with Coconuts’, who I stumbled on whilst queueing to see something else… I I I never thought I’d like improv comedy with all the stuff I’d seen on telly being total garbage.. however they were the funniest thing I’ve ever seen..
They’re back this year with a ticketed show, look them up..

I'd suggest looking online to see if there's anything you really want to see. Then just kicking around that area for the day.
Made a mistake one year of booking a few things in advance and finding out they were basically as far from each other as they could be!
Year after, just booked one show then saw loads of stuff in the same building, some great, some shit, all free. |

I reckon that's a good strategy to adopt |

This sounds perfect - especially free as I’m on a budget. But happy to perhaps donate what I can afford if that’s how it works? |

There are loads of free events. They can be hit and miss. We've seen some excellent free shows. They do hope for donations but don't demand them. xx |

There was a guy on Radio Scotland this morning.."My Dad isn't Danny Devito".
Story of finding out his Dad was a mafia hit man. Sounded really interesting. |

"Find out where Jerry Sadowitz's cancelled Pleasance show has been moved to. Pay whatever he is asking for a ticket. You won't regret it."
Absolutely this!
I believe he's also coming to Greenock later in the year |
