Hello lovely fab friends - I’ve just got a new lens for my camera (85mm 1.8 for any fellow photography geeks)

Will be spending the weekend playing with that and a full igniting set up. If anyone wants any photos done drop me a note available till Sunday evening

As said previously the 85mm 1.8 is a great lens but depending where you are using it and what your shooting it can be a bit long. And of course the DOF at 1.8 is very narrow.

Bought for doing some boudoir model shoots. 24-70 2.8 is too bloody heavy these days.. wanted something light but sharp.

Humm I think what you were trying to say was take a portrait, as it’s is amateurs that take snapshots.. ffs if you want to insult someone for no reason then at least have the intelligence to do a reasonable job of it … muppet

no i said it the right way your a amateur taking snapshots if you were any good you would have a website or at least some thing to show - you dont.

i know what a professional photographer is and you certainly are not one , as for intelligence i was keeping the insult basic so you could understand it

Changing the subject...

How is the lens, nanaged to play with it yet.

I am very much an amateur and only really take landscapes but my girlfriend is going to model for me soon.

I have a 5 year Pentax and got a 50mm 1.2 to lens for the shoot is that not any good

50 mm is a great lens for shooting people I read somewhere that it’s the closest thing to what our eyes see. I would shoot around f2.7 - f4 as at 1.2 you’ll have her eyes in focus but her ears out of focus .. unless that’s the look your going for.

The 85 is brilliant you need a bit of space to get full body shots in. But the compression is amazing. It’s so light it’s like not having a lens on..
