We’re off to the beach today, nothing extravagant just somewhere in Ayrshire. It did get us thinking though, where is the best beach that you have visited in Scotland and why?
We’ve narrowed it down to about 8 or 9. It’s harder than you think.
Our list in no particular order -
Sango Sands near Durness
Clashnessie Beach, Lochinver
Clachtoll Beach, Lochinver
Hushinish, Harris
Seilebost, Harris
Luskentyre, Harris
Tolsta, Lewis
Uig, Lewis
Sanna Bay, Ardnamurchan
The Airport, Barra
Well that turned into a Top Ten

"Camusdarach beach is lovely "
We camped at Invercaimbe a few years back. A stones throw from Camusdarach campsite. Beaches along there were lovely. Sun setting over Eigg and Rhum was stunning. |

Some stunning beaches all over but I would highly recommend the idyllic Tiree, Coll and Colonsey.
Yip that's where my fav beaches hide. "

Aberdour silver sands has a special place in my heart.
Me and my friend hiked up the top of the hill, behind the lighthouse and had a truly amazing experience under the stars.
It was a pretty beautiful view |

Guess that's what helps make places very special, the location, atmosphere and everything falling into place to make it a perfect time |

I was ambling about a few weeks back, found Brora beach, and also. Clachtoll beach, both for first time, and both fabulous beaches. There are some great beaches on Shetland Islands too |

M originally from Harris, now on Isle of skye. I agree with your top ten list. There are some awesome wee hidden beaches on Harris and up north on the NC500 nobody goes to and are great for having some wet and wet times on |

The tombolo or ayre as it's known in auld Norse that connects St Ninians island to the mainland Shetland Island looks amazing, sadly I've never been there. |
