I had a meet arranged with a single guy last night. Messaged him yesterday afternoon to confirm everything was still on and was assured it was. My pal gave me a lift to the bar where I was meeting the guy, walked in and couldn't see him. I was about 10 mins early so got a drink and took a seat to wait for him. After about 45 mins waiting decided to message him but profile has disappeared.

Why do guys do this. I am now considering blocking single guys now after this happening twice in the last couple of weeks.

Now that is a shame, that sort of thing is rife within the fab world.

But hopefully it doesn't put you off meeting single guys again.

Would you like me to restore your faith in single guys

It's guys like that who ruin it for the genuine single guys

Hope it doesn't ruin your weekend

I agree with this, coffee near the shops that I want to go to.

Yeah definitely, I'm a punctual guy most of the time so if I'm meeting a woman then I'm no different.

I’m late for everything. Always at the coos tail!

A wee bit of old fashioned manners are nice. I still like getting a door held for me, or being put to the inside of a pavement.

It's funny you mention that because that is another 2 things I do.

Even although the pavement positioning does feel a bit like getting treated like a child.

Giving up a seat is another one

I’ve only been stood up once. I was fuming as I was pretty busy but made time for someone. Something had came up. Still. How long does it take to tell someone you can’t make it?

Wouldn’t do it myself. Treat others how you’d like to be treated

We're damned if we do and damned if we don't though. I've apparently annoyed women for offering them seats or offering to carry packages, or holding open doors, been seen as patronising them.

For far too many on this site, the fantasy of meeting is more exciting than actually meeting, most of the rest are time wasters or fake as fuck.

Luckily mostly easy to spot

If you don't the day after .. woops.

So how does any of that relate to someone arranging a meet, confirming the meet, then just not showing and then either deleting or hiding profile? That's time wasting, clear and simple. Nothing to do with differing schedules or looking for requirements.

Theres plenty women, couples and Tgirls who do it too, but by and far the worst for it are single guys. It's not guy bashing, it's just the facts...

Half the people making arrangements with me never show or confirm...its a sad fact, and very frustrating. I never meet somewhere out, so im at least spared all that hassle. Still tho, an hour getting ready and another hour waitng for someone to arrive is just disrespectful and cowardly on their part.

Ive had people say 'im on my way' and never show up...hide their profile. I just block them...ive blocked 6 in the last month or so for not attending appointments or meets.

Still baffles me why are they even on here, if they have no intention of meeting up and enjoying sex with people.

"I had a meet arranged with a single guy last night.

So sorry to hear this bcause of idiots like that give us good genuine guys that's trying a bad name it's hard enough trying to get a meet at times or even just a chat

OP that’s terrible but notch it down to experience.

We had a guy cancel at the last minute as he forgot he was going on holiday. We had another who was d*unk when we turned up at his hotel room. We take a zero tolerance approach. If you’re not a priority for them then they’re not a priority for you.

Don’t agree the bad ones make the good guys look good. The bad guys put inexperienced couple off swinging when they mess them about.

Though some are no doubt time wasters, I suspect a lot of people just get cold feet at the last minute, and dont set out to mess people around, and rather than do the decent thing just take the easier option.

My main point is that you don't leave a female standing alone waiting for you not to turn up, and mud sticks, if there's guy's doing this multiple times , then doubt about every guy will enter females minds

Not having anything against the op but this is just why i dont do social meet in pub and bars. I either do it and the home (mine or theres) or a club that why i can tell right away if there wasting my time, because the geuine one meet at clubs if the can accom like myself and the not so geuine ones make up excuse and try to wiggle out and its soon very visable… ps as single guy i ve been stood up even to the point so one tried to make me wait out side there home till there husband left for work (without my knowledge).

Its just people you just need to create your own check list of verification requirement prior to socialising with that person then do so expecting to be let down and have a back up so you havent wasted your time… last one i used was meeting near a cinema so i could go to the cinema instead on a Saturday. Funny enough thay meet was a great one and i ve still not see “birds of prey” yet

Not everyone lives near a swingers club though, or wants to meet in the evenings. An initial social meet in a club works for you, which is fantastic, but it wouldn't necessarily work for anyone else.

A social meet somewhere public like a coffee shop is what works for me. If I'm stood up then it's frustrating but I always take a book and treat myself to a lovely slice of cake so it never feels like my times been wasted. Instead I acknowledge I've dodged a bullet, and enjoy the peace and quiet with my book anyway!

This exactly. I won't give out my home address without meeting socially first and always feel better knowing there are other people around. If I meet in a pub or cafe and there is a spark, attraction and connection I will invite them back.

To answer a few points that were raised.

Regarding meeting in a club it migh be OK if there was one close. Am I going to suggest to someone who stays 20mins away that we travel 3 and a half hours to meet for a social, I think not.

Meeting in a cafe is something I do but it's not an option for a night time meet.

Meeting in a bar is my preference for a evening meet and when it didn't happen my night was not wasted. I am an outgoing person and find it easy to speak to people I don't know and ended up having a good night anyway.

I won't meet with just anybody and had been chatting by message for a while before agreeing to a meet but it's always social first but will go further if we are compatable.

I won't meet first at either their place or mine, always somewhere there or others about.

You shouldn't feel the need to justify why you meet the way you meet..it's what works for you! You're not to blame if someone hasn't got the balls to go through with plans made to meet. No matter how you do first meets, be it straight to sex in the back of their Citroen, Costa at lunchtime or swingers club at midnight, there is always a risk the other person may not turn up. There really isn't any way to avoid it, a no show is a possibility when we make appointments with any other person, on Fab or off!

"Not having anything against the op but this is just why i dont do social meet in pub and bars.

I doubt there are many women who would want a first social meeting at their home! Anyone asking me to do so would be told where to go!!!

I’d rather meet potential psychos in a coffee shop instead of giving them my address!

So meet a club. Which is what is said.

Why meet at a coffee shop to just be stood up and have your time wasted? Which is exactly what happened to the op…

If you meet at a club then there the potential to meet other link mind folk or at the least some to chat to

About how shit bag your meet was from not ahowing up

Btw…can I ask why you have two accounts….just wondering?"

Doubles his chances of a knockback
