I don't like it! men should have nice short hair that is cut regularly by a 'real' barber and not just a bloke with an electric shaver I'm not into these £5 hair styles! get it done properly! and wash it with a good quality shampoo so that it smells and feels great! |

I have to say that one of my real treats to my self is to go to a proper hairdressers and be pampered and come away with a good quality hair cut...cant beat it for giving you a confident glow...  |

I dont think guys with long hair look very cool, i think Status Quo ruined it for you.

Am more of a funked up hair style man myself... Although at the moment I am sporting a clean cut 50s inspired quiff!! The days of long hair have passed if you ask me... And as its my profession I like to think I know  |

I had amazingly long hair 6 months ago, then I got it cut... 6 months before that, I had similarly amazingly long hair, but got it cut. I've had an on/off love affair with my long hair over the past 5 years. 7 years ago I used to be able to sit on it.
I miss it sometimes. Then I remember why I keep it short these days. I don't want soggy hair. |

I (mrs) think it depends on the man as to whether they actually suit long hair. Same with women too... Some ladies have short hair and look stunning and sexy, but a lot of us ladies prefer to grow our hair longer, perhaps a feminine trait and therefore a reason why we think our men should have short hair and look more masculine? Me personally... It's the whole thing, eyes first, smile, demeanour, ability to make me laugh and listen and then.... Seduce!!! As always, each to their own on here!  |

I've never really understood the "men should look like men" argument - all the effeminate men I can think of have short hair, usually very expensive looking but still short. Wouldn't exactly call Zakk Wylde girly, would you?
(Actually the first example that came to my mind was Chris Jericho from WWE, used to watch it as a kid. Turns out he's not got short hair and looks like a right poofter!)
Not saying it's always a good look of course, just that 9 times out of 10 it doesn't look feminine. |

Flattops were a total 80s retro haircut (reading through the posts). Frankie Goes to Hollywood et al. The psychobillies and rockabillies scenes. Stray Cats etc.
It was mainly short hair that was the style back in the 80s (two tone ska, madness, etc, plus Bowie, yuppie era etc, the slickback et al). New Romantics changed it for a short period but it was more an influence on womens hair than mens.
The late 60s and 70s were more the long hair era. Depends on what you see as long hair I guess. Certainly the indie bands etc were 'long haired' (by 50s standards) right through the 90s and 00s.
Personally I quite like periods of longish hair and then periods of short hair. Depends on how I feel and what I like clothes wise etc. Right now I'm doing the Australian hobo look which consists of near shoulder length hair and lots of 3 day growth days. Which is cool. I'm on holiday and I'm enjoying winding up my bald mates and their hair envy |

Wolf and I have hair about the same length and we both take the same amount of time to get ready - about 10 mins! Don't own a hair dryer
