Could be expelled from the Labour party for alleged prejudice against Muslims. Does labour have an issue with all religions?
Or is this just a witch hunt after him being one of the 24 public figures who wrote to the Guardian last year declaring their refusal to vote for Labour because of its association with anti-Semitism... |

The hard left labour has an issue with everyone that is against their view and demand of politics
So they tar anyone in their way smear, foul mouth them but then when a crunch comes isn't their fault.

 They're even starting to let their deeply ingrained racism to come to the surface without check, especially against people of colour who don't agree with them. Do they consider them "traitors" to their ideology perhaps? It is a very sad time for the UK. |

Don't know what he's alleged to have done but racism is a sickening blight in society, including within political parties. Fair and thorough investigations need to be done, with appropriate sanctions. He seems a reasonable person, so let's hope that he's not done anything wrong and that he rabid smears can stop. |

Current Labour leadership has an issue with anyone disagreeing with them. Either they will be pushed out or kicked out.
They have lost the confidence of many, it's just not on the issues of religion or Brexit, but the whole ideology of the CURRENT Labour itself.
If they continue with this trend, then they will be on par as the current Lib Dems, losing votes. |

The Labour party just won't learn, or more likely doesn't want to learn.
The Corbynista/Momentum cult has the party by the throat is trying to purge any/all dissenting voices.
To be fair they haven't sent anyone to the Gulags (yet) but give them time and power and then we will see how long it takes.

I think the problem here is right wing doesn't play the racism card much. For a left wing party that complains about racism on daily basis, taking no action for words against one religion but suspending someone for words against another religion shows blatant hipocrisy and favouritsm. |

This is what I was thinking.
Whether a witch hunt against those that spoke out against labour in the past or not the fact of the matter is the labour party have found someone in their midst that they believe has exhibited Islamophobia.
If proven guilty then Trevor Philip's deserves what's thrown at him
If proven innocent then cool let him continue and keep rooting out racists from amongst their party.
However I would throw some caution that what 1 defines as racism may not be what another does as was clearly and is clearly the case with those who show racism towards Zionists &/or Jews.
Another point Islamophobia is also anti semitism since both Abrahamic Faith's are semitic.
We have to use correct lexicon and parlance if we are to begin to route out evil within our society.
I havent the foggiest why nazism and KKK style racism hasnt been eradicated from the mentality of some in the west... any thoughts? |

Colour me cynical but I’d wager this has more to do with Philips being a Blairite than anything else. Islamophobia is a convenient excuse to shuffle him off. Neo liberals aren’t really welcome in the party anymore (sorry, ‘the movement’). |
