Extra bonus points available for anyone who lists and sings the praises of criminally underrated singers out there such as Joe Lynn Turner who has fronted a good number of big acts, from Rainbow to Deep Purple and even (briefly) for Yngwie Malmsteen with his superb vocal skills.

Oh my god, I could go on at great length on this topic. I have so many favourites and listing them all would probably bore everyone to death, but my top 10 (in no particular order) would probably be:

I’m talking about Floor as an all round vocalist, she is probably the most complete package out there, man or woman. Try checking out the clips from Beste Zanger on Youtube, or her stuff with ReVamp and Northward. Tarja, great as she is, has only had one style for most of her career and it’s only on her new album that she’s dropped the operatic style on some tracks. |

Another criminally underrated singer: Messiah Marcolin who sang with Doom Metallers, Candlemass.
Also, for vocal range, King Diamond and Eric Adams (although the latter has admitted that he’s lost an octave range or two as he’s gotten older) |
