it's very much on my mind. My mum who is 86 and very unwell asked a consultant how long she has left. He told her he didn't know but estimated four years. She is now regretting all the things she hasn't done and is now not able to. Every time I see her (which is a lot lol) she tells me I must do the things I want to do now (if only she knew eh!).
That's why I say, don't wait until you're told a date you're going to die, live your best life now! |

She is now regretting all the things she hasn't done and is now not able to. Every time I see her (which is a lot lol) she tells me I must do the things I want to do now (if only she knew eh!).

You’re so right. One of my best friends died last year. Just like that, healthy woman. Heart attack. Same age as me. Hit me like a ton of bricks. I changed from that day on. Sometimes it takes something like that to put things into perspective and make you re-evaluate life x |

Where my mum's concerned it seems to be being given a time scale that has caused her regret when at her age she must reasonably have known that her time is limited anyway.
I don't understand why we need to have the fact that we're going to die confirmed by someone else before we let go and live. It's almost as if we need permission or we need to know there's a get out clause. |

I can see it in some ways. if I only had a few years left I could afford to give up work and live a great life so in that respect I understand why people would want to know. |

Same here, I don’t fear death but want to organise things for when I’m gone and arrange my own funeral.
I fully enjoy life now but if I knew I had say only a month left then I would spend that enjoying the month rather than working. |

Is there really such thing as a soulmate?
As in is there really one person in the entire world of 7.5 billion people that I am totally compatible with?
That there is only one person right for me, that destiny or fate will somehow bring us together at some point?
Or are there lots of people who I could happily spend life with? |

Lovely idea but if it was true we wouldn't grieve surely? We would know we could hold that person close and feel their presence when we needed it.

You are right, I don't personally believe in soul mates.
But I do believe that I can find someone to be with forever, someone to be faithful to. As when I am with someone I have never cheated. Never wanted to or needed to.
I'm on fab for some kind of sex life until I find her.
