Black Sabbath's game changing self titled debut turns 50 today. One of my favourite bands of all time and I know there other fans on here. Wearing my 50th anniversary tshirt today which I got at the Home of Metal exhibition last year.
Lets see some love for Black Sabbath. \m/ \m/ |

Love Sabbath! Saw them years ago at Monsters of Rock, I cried! Seeing such Rock Gods in the flesh! Seen them about five times altogether. Last time was their last time Download, I cried again, as Ozzy seemed to be struggling at times x So lucky though, to have seen them xx

Wow. I forget it was 1970. I was 14 when I got into them some 8 years later. I’ll never forget hearing their stuff for the first time. It sent shivers down my spine.
Fantastic band. |

Hailz sabbath! We’ve both been into black sabbath since we were kids, Mrs dad was (and still is) a big fan, I got into them via my mates (biker) step dad! war pigs was the first thing I learned to play on guitar/bass! I’m in a band now that belongs to (amongst 1000s of other underground bands ) a huge international scene and sub genre of heavy metal called stoner/doom inspired almost entirely by black sabbath (for those who didn’t know) if you like sabbath, check out your local stoner/doom scene! Many bands sound more like sabbath than sabbath ever did favourite sabbath songs are fairies wear boots, children of the grave, international acrobat, lord of this world, snowblind, into the void! Happy 50th \m/ |

Massive stoner doom fan here from the moment I bought Hymns to the Stone in 95 which, at the time was just Doom coz Stoner Rock didnt exist as a sub-genre at the time. Still got the copy of Kerrang somewhere from 98 when they did the Stoner Rock Consortium, the same week Spirirual Beggars played their first London show at the Bull and Gate. Orange Goblin had just dropped their second album and yeah so many bands from that scene that are more Sabbath than Sabbath. Living in London means I've gotten to see and be a part of a vibrant fuzzy scene. |

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest |
The grandfathers of metal and an iconic band. While I greatly respect ozzy and his unique vocals, Dio was the best vocalist they had. He blew ozzy out of the water when singing songs from his time. Heaven and Hell and Dehumanizer are amazing albums from start to finish .
Regardless of which era, mandatory presence on any rock playlist ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Cool, yeah, of course doom and stoner get lumped together nowadays, I grew up listening to whatever was on headbangers ball so lots of cathedral, candlemass, the obsessed, then started getting into the American stuff like kyuss and corrosion of conformity! We supported Orange goblin last year \m/ |

It’s kind of a saying, however, if you could imagine a charicature of a famous celebrity, picking out all of their most distinguishing features and making them a lot more obvious, now imagine a band doing that with sounds instead of visuals, that! |

Sabotage was released 50 years ago op. All are classic albums though. Even Never Say Die has it's moments! I saw the Dio fronted version and they were excellent and have seen Ozzy solo a few times. |

"One final gig announced for July. Premier Inn in the area all booked up already 😂
That line up is absolutely stacked!"
I've only a passing interest in Sabbath and metal in general but I saw it and thought wow. |

The first album is a classic.
Haven't followed them closely though in recent times.
(However I do like the track " tv crimes" with dio singing ...and a track calked ' stranger to love'...can'tremember which singer sang on that but he had a soul/ gospel type voice, more pop sounding but good track though.) |
