"Do you enjoy swimming? I much prefer it for cardio than jogging etc."
I enjoy swimming but don't enjoy sharing the pool
My gym is much more community oriented, I'm at the high proficiency end of recreational swimmer and... yeah. I actually took the pool off my membership because it saves me a third and I'm not sure when I last used it. |

There and to the left a bit |
I'm actually the opposite as I quite like cardio as I can find a rhythm and lose myself in it (which I struggle to do with leg/upper body work) - I do however know what you mean about the boredom factor as it's happened to me when I've slipped out of my rhythm or am struggling with pushing myself (bikework!!) - have found it helps when a decent tune comes on though - so maybe that's the answer as the above poster suggested - get wired for sound!! |

Do you really need to do it or is it a myth ?
Just lift heavy shit.
Strength training at the right weight plus regular walking should be fine unless you have a ton of fat to shift ? Most cardio is in the wrong zone anyway for fat burning would be much slower or HIIT, and 90% of results come from the kitchen not the gym
I go through phases where I find running boring I try pod casts, schedule my calls and listen to new music but if it gets too boring I do something else like these:
Walking
Swimming
Find a really steep hill and run up it a couple of times a week
Hill/fell walk
Level 2 8min abs on YouTube
Slam balls 10x10 sets
Sparring |

I'd like to get a bit more chiselled, truth be known, and I think cardio is going to be a better way of doing it than cutting my diet to the point where I lose the plot (my diet is already pretty on point).
It shouldn't bother me (and save the nagging messages please ) but as someone as fit and strong as I am, I'd like to be smaller than a size 14. |

I love cardio, me and my friend did an hour in the gym this morning but with loads of different excises to stop it getting boring, variety is key i think, see if you can get advice from the gym? |

Looks at calisthenics, i do lots of this its great for toning, lift weights will burn more fat than cardio, cardio is massively overated i do it once a week in the great out doors and walk rather than drive short journeys. I got my x into lifting, shes well known on Instagram for her gym vids she does zero cardio and just from calisthenics & weight training she has gone from a 16 to a 10. focus on the legs, if you want 'abs'theyre made in the kitchen. |

I'm down from a 24 to a 14. From 16 to 14 it's mostly been recomp rather than loss, I suppose, and now I want to make the best of those gains.
And, like, heart health and stuff so I should probably do cardio, lol. |

God I am so with you on this, I have exactly the same problem! I love lifting heavy and have been doing so for a while now, I just feel like I've plateaued. I really know deep down I need to switch things up a bit but I'm happy with my routine.
I always try to incorporate my cardio as part of the lifting sessions - standard warm up and then doing an extra 15-20 mins at the end.. The playlist is what gets me through, go for monotonous fast heavy beats that you can keep in step with..you kind of get lost in the music! |

"I find that walking is a fun way of doing it, just walking around the block can get you 7000 steps "
This. Used to do aerobics, step and all that carry on years ago...now I can't think of anything more boring. Music on full blast, wrap up warm and I can walk for miles. |

If you lift why not just rep it out and do some circuits like 3-4 days heavy then 2 days full body light, those longer rests can be good when you lift. Cardio is totally to lifting , just zaps your energy to lift and makes you want to eat beige

If you like lifting, you could try weighted prowler push /pull or tyre flipping. Good cardio but feels like weights. |
