I have been thinking about getting a procedure done since I was about 12 years old. I still really want to and a man's opinion isn't going to change my view on it but I am curious if it's something that you view differently |

I'm talking procedures in general, im not going to go into detail about my own personally.
You can want to know other people's opinions without it needing to change yours. Its a decision about how I view my body as I'm the one that has the live with it. Multiples men's opinion on my body won't change the voice in my head |

I'm not a man, so, apologies.
But make sure you know why you're doing it. Maybe talk to a therapist. I had long standing issues with my body, things I would have fixed with surgery if I could have done. Then I had therapy and had a few other changes, and those issues are gone. I suspect if I'd had surgery I just would have placed my self-hatred elsewhere.
You might be much more self-aware than me, and if so I applaud you. And my opinion is worth what you paid for it, maybe less. But, my tuppence. |

If it wasnt going to change my mind I wouldn't bother asking. But that's me.
But since you did ask. Depends on the procedure. If you're getting huge breasts that look like Lolo Ferrari I would say it's not for me.
If you're getting a mole removed then I'd say that's fine |

The only reason I asked for mens opinions is because that's the sex I prefer as a life partner rather than just sexually.
I don't have any self hated rand it's not to better myself in other people's minds. They won't see the outcome of the surgery so it's hardly for attention haha |

I fear that women feel too much of a burden imposed upon them by patriarchal and capitalist pressures to stand up to unrealistic expectations to support cosmetic surgery.
It’s easier said than done for me as a bloke in his 30s but I just wish these beautiful young women would feel more comfortable in their own skins and not want to resort to surgical procedure to feel better about themselves. |

"I always wanted a gill transplant, but apparently science hasnt caught upto my imagination yet"
I feel your pain good sir; I went to my GP and asked to have antlers grafted onto my skull and a trunk attached to my penis.
The philistine laughed at me.
Luckily enough I have some superglue here though; now all I have to do is find both a stag and an elephant on the donor register.....

Which beggars the question why you would start a thread about it. |

Had breast implants 13 years ago.
A lot of guys and women are quite vocal about their dislike of breast implants and can be quite insulting with their comments and opinions, tennis balls on Velcro kind of comments and only “real boobs” are better. Apparently it’s only acceptable with these kinds of people if you have them after reconstruction surgery.
I will say in the 13 years I’ve had them not one guy has ever turned me down for having them. |

I've met women and also Tgirls that have had breast implants and they never feel natural for some reason. Look good though. How do people react to yours (serious question as I'm growing mine through hormones but takes ages, thinking of breast enlargement) x |

The question is super vague.
My view on cosmetic surgery is that it makes many women feel better about themselves.
A lady I know had surgery on her mouth/jaw and it did make her look more attractive. Another lady I know had really pretty little boobies but then got implants to make them look huge. In my opinion, they were much prettier when small. |

*Some* people take the piss and go too big too soon.
When I had mine done I practically begged the surgeon to make me an E cup but he put me off it so much I went for the smaller size implant. He said that because I had very little breast tissue and no elasticity in my skin if I went bigger than the implant issue he suggested I could get stretch marks or run the risk of them looking stuck on. He said after 2 years once my skin had naturally stretched I’d be able to accommodate a bigger implant.
I only have 265cc in each breast and when you consider most people got 400cc and above for their first implants you’re gonna feel a lot of silicon rather than a natural breast.
I’ve had a pregnancy, I’ve put weight on and my implants are sub muscular (behind my chest muscle) mine jiggle and can be squished and have a bit of natural sag to them, after 13 years! |

My opinion on any cosmetic surgery is that if it is what you want then go for it, it is your body your choice. For me it is not about the actual surgery but how it makes you feel about your body - if you feel better and more confident then I find that sexy as hell. |

I say if it makes you happy and it gives you confidence then go for it.
I’ve cared for ladies who had cosmetic treatments and seen the joy it brings when see in mirror the thing they didn’t like gone or changed.
I had a lady who had serious body issues smile when seen larger chest by once cup size and seen her out in bar and told me how pretty she felt as felt normal
So after my experience I say if you can do it the. Do for you. If a guy or woman had issue then they are not for you as you being comfortable and happy will give better to them.
Hope helps with my few penny worth |

It's hard to give advice or a opinion, not knowing what said procedure is. I therefore deem this thread an exercise in futility.
Next case please! |

People can have a good or bad opinion on any aspect of your physical appearance whether you've had surgery or not. Nothing will every be deemed universally attractive.
If you've sought professional advice and it will make you feel better, best of luck to you |

I would echo what someone says about therapy if it's something you have wanted for a long time. The fact you're asking this question in such a vague way says to me that there is a level of insecurity there that won't be fixed with surgery...
All that aside and let's say you're having surgery for the right reasons...
There are many men in the world, some will have issues with surgery, some won't. If you've had surgery and find a man, and he has issues with it, then it's just another indicator that he's not the right man for you. |

Where do we draw the line with surgery? For some it's an addiction. Desiring to look like the perfect image in their head. Which can very quickly and drastically go out of hand. Just look at the people on that "Botched" program.
I always feel sad for the people on there after surgery following an accident or medical condition to help make them feel normal and better about themselves. Less so for the vain selection who just want bigger breasts/lips/ass to get more Instagram followers or have men in clubs drool over them etc.
If I was with someone who'd already had surgery, I'd be like Ok whatever. But I'd more than likely try and talk them out of getting anymore. I think it's mostly unnecessary and just a way for private practises to abuse and make an absolute killing from you

Just do what you want to do.
I must admit though the amount of people that have told me I’ve ‘spoilt my face’ with fillers is a quite high.
Also I’ve booked in for a breast implant consultation (for fullness not size - they are already an E) and my male swing buddies have all said ‘we’ll fall out with you’ but I know how I feel and at the moment, it’s not that good
People are pretty vocal about the topic.... but you do you. That’s my best advice x |

I believe women are beautiful for different reasons.
Imperfections sometimes included.
They are what make us unique in some circumstances.
Unless it's for health reasons I dont believe women need plastic surgery. But then again, it's all about personal happiness. If it makes the person happier then what's the problem? |

I say if you think the procedure will improve your quality of life, and the potential gains outweigh the potential risks involved (if any) then you should go for it. |

There is a blurred line..
-The thing I tend to get most complimented on is my teeth. (they're "straight as fuck" as one of my friends commented recently).
I've had braces since the age of about 9 & then for a little while in my 40s i got fitted with braces again.
(It's not surgery as such as it's not invasive & quick, but it is altering oneself.)

This is a very well thought out comment which I applaud. As a mother of 2, mid 30s with bits that wobble, I have thought about surgery on my tummy but then think why should I? A doesn't care about wobbly bits and anyone off here who did won't be getting near me, so I'd rather spend the money on a nice holiday where I can flaunt my wobbles! |

Well I had breast implants back in 2007 which was before Instagram and mainstream social media. Think Facebook was only starting to get popular then and I certainly didn’t do it for anyone other than myself.
I knew from age 16 and thinking that one day my boobs will come like everyone else around me but they never did. I got to 23 and thought fuck it, was still living at home with my grandfather so didn’t have any bills. Saved my pay for a few months and booked it.
My only regret was not saving money for the second boob job that I needed to get me to the size I wanted to be. |

She asked for the opinion of men. Some have given their opinion. I can only apologise if it differs to your own
It's something that needs careful consideration. A good friend of mine had a reduction a handful of years back. Thankfully she is still here today, but the Sepsis that set in could have more than easily taken her from us. |

When i was first dating my partner, about 2 months ib maybe. I got on my high horse and ranted for about half hour about cosmetic surgery, and about the men and women who get it.
She nodded politely and agreed at points, but other than that, didn't stop my tirade.. About 5 months later, i asked to meet and maybe spend couple days, she said she couldn't, but i persisted, and when we met, she confessed...
She had been getting botox around her eyes I was gutted.. Not that she had been getting it done, gutted coz she let me say all that stuff and never batted an eye lid...
In hindsight, maybe she couldn't... (that last bit was a jokey joke). |

I dont think its exclusive to women?
Men are more and more obsessed with image and the perceived perfect look?
People have a perception of how they would like to look...that's fine. What isnt, are the harmful influences and suggestions, that only certain looks are desirable? |

I think aswell tho (& I know this lady actually asked for opinions) but my mam kindly brought me up with the old ‘of you ain’t got nothing nice to say, don’t speak at all’, that’s a what perplexes me about people just coming out with opinions when not asked. I’d never walk up to someone and say ‘here, love, your hair looks shit’, I’m more the type to tuck people’s tags in and hide the bond on their hair extensions.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
Men and women are Equally as bad when in comes to striving for the "perfect body image", whatever that image is to them (speaking in general terms), but often comes down to the hypothetical person having issues, and possibly some form of body dysmorphia, which most studies and literature show, that cosmetic surgery in no way helps these issues/problems.
My personal opinion is, each to their own if they wish to have cosmetic surgery. But I see more beauty in a woman who is natural and as Jason Mraz says, stays graceful and just goes with the seasons x |

Yep, a mate of mine is on steroids and giving himself tanning jabs all the time. He recently ended up very ill with a nasty swollen infection from where he keeps injecting himself with this tan stuff. Three weeks later after antibiotics and a hospital scare he's gone straight back to doing it again |

My wife wants Botox, even though she looks great. A lot of her friends have it done and fillers and other shit.. none of them need it either. It's a market that's created out of FOMO and the dreadful housewives of turdvile programmes. But I do like a big set of fake tits on someone else's wife. |

Personally I don't judge people for having cosmetic surgery it their body they can do what they want with it. It's the person inside that counts, but I know from my own personal mental health issues that sometimes the mirror is the worst thing in the world if having some work done will make you happy do it. And fuck those that judge you for it |

Aside from needing to be fit for my job that's why I do it, I'm far more confident with a muscular physique. I don't do any steroids or anything like that though. |
