Impulsive or a thinker
Jump to: Newest in thread
Do you act on impulse or are you the type of person who tskes a little time (or a long time) to think things over?
Mr is a thinker, and likes to weigh up the pros and cons, think ahead etc, whereas I act on impulse, will make a quick decision and just go for it.
For example, I looked at a house just the once and made the decision to buy it there and then,
I recently got offered a new job and said yes straight away.
Both have been the right decisions. I feel sometimes you can think too much about stuff and talk yourself out of doing things. |

Definitely thinker, in the sense that I’m not impulsive, but I also listen closely to my gut and trust my instincts. I have made some horrible mistakes about who to trust, which has made me even more cautious. |

I like to take good decisions. Thinking may not need to be slow but I'll not rush many things, if there's no urgency. Being fast and effective is best. I like a simple life, so keep things I do on that basis |

I’m impulsive about important things with consequences like spending £400 on tattoos just weeks before Xmas, but then over think stupid shit like thinking a thousand things what a guy could mean when he texts you saying “how are you?” |

I have found over the years that when younger, I'd make Impulsive led decisions then often regret it afterwards.
I also take after my Mother, that is, in a heated discussion or verbal disagreement, I ALWAYS had to have the Last Word.
That got me into heaps of trouble at times!! How I didn't get thumped by others, I don't know?
Now, as I've grown older, plus from experience, I tend to think out any issues or problems first, looking at any 'what if' scenario before making any decision. |

It depends on the situation, day to day I'm quite impulsive and often change my mind once a decision is made too.
With the big stuff I'm quite methodical and like to take my time and consider all options and consequences. |

I'm too lazy to think. I think about the big stuff but I don't overthink. The small stuff I'm totally impulsive. Life's too short to spend agonising over the trivial. |

I wouldn't say I'm impulsive, but im definitely not a thinker either. I'm more, "let's give it a whirl, what's the worse that could happen" -without then bothering to think of the worst that could happen ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

I base my decisions on beliefs and feelings based on an intuitive understanding of the information I’ve got, so I can act quickly. I’m less impulsive than I was but I only employ an analytical approach when there are significant risks. Then I slow down a bit.
I am much more analytical in conflict situations that haven’t been resolved quickly. |

"It all depends on the situation and how much I have had to go drink lol
Haha true. Alcohol can have very odd effects on decision making."
Yes had some regrets and also some great experiences too so not sure what is the right answer lol |
