I'll view it when I don't have to pay for it.
Solo and TLJ proved to me that change is needed to make it worth spending money on.
The best stuff from lucasfilm is the stuff Kathleen Kennedy had limited involvement in.
Having read the leaks (which are being confirmed all the time to be true) I know I'm not missing out on anything.

I’ll wait till it hits Sky.
I’m not that excited about it, The Last Jedi was a let down after The Force Awakens.
It’s akin to all the Daniel Craig Bond films after the excellent Casino Royale! |

Finding it hard to feel enthused by anything star wars right now and considering how much the originals and books mean to me it's strange...
Was made worse due to Disney+ making me wait till Easter to watch the mandalorian legally
And!!!
Scream sabres... Yes they're a thing... Watch the advert and feel your childhood die even more |

A cultural icon? "
It is, it may be pop culture but it is very much a cultural icon.
Bit of research and you will see just how much star wars has impacted a lot of things, for a lot of people, across multiple cultures, in all walks of life.
It single handedly changed the face of movie and TV show effects, both digital and practical.
A large number of those in the film and TV industry (currently) are there largely based on their first viewing of star wars. A lot of them state it is the thing that pushed them to acting and that industry.
A lot of scientists pursued a career in science/space due to first seeing star wars (even if it is sci-fantasy and not sci-fiction).
Its impact is huge. |

Loved the Prequels, loved the OGs, hated the sequels. Loved Rogue One. Solo was... acceptable.
The sequels just seem pointless with no cool story, nothing that makes you cry or laugh. Rey is a Mary Sue. |

I (Luke) probably will go and see it out of sheer curiosity but after the disappointmentoof the previous two films (yes, including The Force Awakens), I don't hold out much hope of thinking it's any good. |

It was trying to focus on too much damage control through fan service and failed. Because of the last jedi and the attack on "toxic" fans, it had to course correct so much stuff it became a mess. Too much to tie up in a single movie.
JJ Abrams by his own admission can't do endings. There was never a road map when they started TFA, other than JJ left notes where his plot points would have gone. They threw that out with TLJ.
They treated a trilogy like 3 stand alone movies. Then realised they need to be connected with an overall story. Which leads to this pile of patchwork mediocre past ditch of salvation.
The only thing it did good is the giant fuck you to Rian Johnson and the last jedi. Which what they should have done, while weak, is show TLJ to be a force vision and fix the movie from there, Dallas style. Removing the mistakes from that movie from the story and then ignoring what it did would make more sense. |

JJ Abrams is not a director who likes to (or can) give answers. I am not impressed with him. |
