Spare a thought for those on the streets this Xmas.
What are you doing to help them this winter?
If you're not doing anything but this thread makes you think you can then what can you or I or others do to make them have a safer winter period?
It's getting cold out there and as I lay in a warm bed i can't help but wonder what can I do to help others. |

Why only think about the homeless at Christmas.. ?
Is it to truly help them or feel good about ourselves ?
Not every homeless person celebrates Christmas and they will be from many different religions |

I have volunteered for 13 years for a charity, we collect warm coats, socks etc, and make food that we distribute to the homeless in Sheffield, I also collect handbags and fill with sanitary products for the ladies, I'm just off to pick a car load up right now, even if one person does their bit, better than nothing x |

I said Xmas to include anyone thst feels it emotively to do charity but I did say winter too as that was mostly my concern...it's bitterly cold and others have less that I do so what can I do to help atleast now during winter.
This wasn't to negate charity all year round as that's something we should do but winter made me think today. |

So how can we get involved in our respective towns and cities? |

So the previous thread got closed as only 1 is needed on this which I respect so this winter what can I do or you do?
I mean there are some charity shops the kind that sell I think 2nd hand stuff and there are those clothes banks/boxes in supermarket car parks and at petrol stations but I have given clothes in the past.
I've no idea where homeless people really are except those I see around the city centres but I wouldn't want to offend them in any way so any ideas? |

being homeless can happen to anyone, I was homeless for a while. I stop & talk whenever I see Them on the street, Have a coffee, Give them what I can & chat. Many have become my friends. Thanks for raising awareness of this Op. A small act of kindness goes a long way. |
